The show's socials have Joel Hatch making a short speech after curtain call. Holly Ann Butler is still with the show as a swing but didn't perform tonight. No clue if any standbys were on tonight.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
27 shows performed tonight. Twenty. Seven. Only two less than this time in 2020, before the pandemic.
I expect we won't have that kind of luck every night, but for what we're dealing with right now, I would say that's pretty damn remarkable. And I think we should take good nights when we can get them.

This is awesome. Can't wait to support more shows throughout the winter. Loved the Girl From the North Country video.

I came so close last week to canceling my long-delayed theater trip from LA. What with all the show cancellations and flight cancellations, I feared that if I got here at all, the shows I had tickets to would be canceled. I’m so glad I didn’t. Flying Over Sunset Wednesday, Caroline or Change Thursday, Assassins tonight…the latter two without even a single understudy. Still to come this weekend - Clyde’s, Kimberly Akimbo, Girl From the North Country, and Six. But even if every one of them were to get canceled (and they won’t), it’s already been so worth the trip. (And my flight did get canceled, but I was able to rebook and still get here in time for my first show!)
I too am glad I didn’t cancel my trip this week. It wasn’t an ideal time to be traveling with Omricon/Covid cases spiking, show cancelations, flight cancelations, and my finances.
But none of my flights canceled and they all landed ahead of time. None of my three shows canceled and I think I only had one understudy (Tally Sessions for Larry in Company), not that I don’t love understudies.
I had trouble get excited leading up to this trip because of all my worries. But that all changed once I got to NYC. I didn’t realize how much I needed this. Things are looking up for me and this felt like this was the perfect way to start the new year. I loved all three of my shows (Assassins, Company, and Caroline, or Change) and my only regret is that I couldn’t see them again or a few others (Clyde’s, Trouble in Mind, Kimberly Akimbo).
I realize the environment is far from ideal to be traveling right now and I would never tell someone not to trust their gut if it’s telling them not to travel right now. But I felt relatively safe (I’ve upgraded to N95 masks and the only time I was unmasked in public was when eating in restaurants which have a vaccine mandate). Overall, I’m been perhaps extremely cautious during the bulk of the pandemic, but I’m glad I came.

I love this. So much. I'm glad you took this trip, my friend.
I really have Sondheim to thank. When he passed, I just had this really intense urge to come see Company and Assassins (and Caroline, or Change). And since Assassins was closing on the 29th and CoC was closing this weekend, I had a limited window. Perfect timing too. My first contract work in almost two years starts on Monday. I’m nervous about that too, but it’s good nerves. And work is the path to recovering much of what I’ve lost these last two years and the path to many more future trips to see NYC shows.

Please get tested (PCR) for COVID if you ate indoors. Unfortunately, a vaccine mandate doesn't do a ton to stop the spread of Omicron.

Sorry about that. The reality is that the vast majority of people I know who have had COVID recently (including myself) were vaccinated and boosted. If you risked eating indoors, you need to get tested.

I understand that, and I'm not saying you're wrong. However, I do think a lot of folks in here were enjoying a nice respite last night from the doom-and-gloom of the past few weeks. I know you probably didn't mean anything bad, but it did come off as a little bit of a buzzkill. I also think Miles likely would have gotten tested after his trip, regardless of whether he'd eaten indoors. As he said in his post, he's been very cautious over the course of the pandemic.
BroadwayRox3588 said: "Well it was nice to have some positive energy in this thread for at least a few posts."
Agreed. I loved reading Miles' and Dan's posts. I'm happy they were able to get to NYC and enjoy everything they did and saw! We're 3 years in with covid, they are responsible adults, and I don't think they need to be told when to get a covid test.
@pagereynolds I also don't want it to seem like anyone is coming down on you here. Like I said, I don't think you had any ill intent. I just think sometimes we need to come up for air, and get a respite from the constant covid messaging coming at us from all corners. It's vital for everyone's mental health, including yours.

Contrary to these hysterics, you do NOT need to get a PCR test after every single activity you do outside of your home. In fact, if vaccinated, guidelines say you don’t even need to isolate unless you develop symptoms after an exposure. By now, it’s time people start to realize the drop in severity of the Omicron variant (every study done on the variant indicates much less severe disease due to it settling in different sections of the respiratory tract). Can’t say you “believe in science” if when the science starts to tell you to relax, your response is to remain acting like it’s March 2020 again.
It’s also kind of insane the obsession with who does and who doesn’t have Covid in this thread. It’s quite literally no one’s business and the pontification every time someone is in or out is ick. Especially those implying if people got it that they’re somehow irresponsible.
Unless I missed it I haven’t seen anyone post about this Daily Beast article. A long read but filled with interesting stuff. Apparently the Broadway League asked unions to take a 50% pay cut for cancelled performances and they roundly rejected it.
All I will say is this. In general, I consider myself pro-union. However, if these unions are going to object to a booster mandate, just to start petty, inconsequential arguments, I might have to rethink that position.

10000000%. It’s interesting how this situation draws similarities with the Chicago schools situation. The teacher’s Union is rejecting concessions unless they include PCR testing for every single student every single week, a system that exactly ZERO school districts in the country have in place. Now, like the League with workers and audiences, Chicago’s municipal government has failed both teachers and students. That much is clear. But we’re living in a different reality with omicron than we have the past two years. I also get it takes time to recalibrate fear, etc.
But at the end of the day, education must happen one way or another, much like you must have audience members buying tickets to continue operating a show. It’s basic economics. Much like legal right to a certain number of paid sick leave days, I wonder if there’s a solution that says shows pay 100% or salaries for paused performances up to a certain number of cancelled performances, and tier down salaries from there for additional pauses. At the end of the day, paying full salaries when not a soul is working in the theatre due to a cancellation isn’t tenable and a whole heck of a lot more people will be completely out of work rather than taking a concession. Which, by the way, concessions are VERY common when a show is financially struggling, so this hard no mentality against making concessions outright now doesn’t quite square.
EDIT: to clarify, though, this is not to give a pass to productions providing inadequate testing that adheres to recommended protocols at the bare minimum.
Glad to read that things are looking up for you Miles. I haven't posted on here, or read it regularly, since early 2020.
I got my booster yesterday. Then I looked up what date the ticket I bought late 2019 for Music Man is currently scheduled. July. Not my ideal time of year to travel to NYC. So what! I booked a hotel & started checking flights. Then bought a ticket for Funny Girl.
I have no clue what else will be playing 6 months from now.
I live in Vancouver, and we've had it pretty easy until now. Six months ago I would have been more hesitant to book a trip; but I've been traveling daily on public transit for a month to a new job I started recently. Omicron is causing cases here to reach heights we've never seen before and I'm in closer contact with complete strangers (though nearly everyone is fully masked) than I would ever be in a restaurant.
I took one vacation locally in the last six months to Vancouver Island. For that trip I did book in a place with suites with kitchenettes so I could cook my own meals & not dine out. Still, I did a whale watching trip on a small boat, in close quarters with (vaccinated) strangers who removed masks to eat sandwiches. I worried the whole day, but was fine.
No one knows what will be the situation in six months.
I'm not going to take risks. I am going to take precautions. But I am not going to live in fear.
I guess the best thing about a trip to NYC in July instead of at X-mas like my last two visits is I can go to Coney Island.
NYC here I come!!

Where did you read that, unions are going to object to a booster mandate, just to start petty, inconsequential arguments, BroadwayRox3588? That does not sound accurate.
I'm reading that unions and management disagree on the amount of downtime AFTER a booster shot usadministered. That's something entirely different, Please correct your inaccurate statement.
From what I could gather on socials, Josh Breckenridge was the only standby on last night in COME FROM AWAY. But not every cast member is active on their socials.
