Right? It's funny, I know Chicago has had a slew of what most folks would consider exciting casting, but this is the first time I have personally been this excited about seeing the show again.

Madix is selling a lot of tickets though. She's out next weekend though. And then they have Jinkx returning for a short engagement in June/July. Curious if they play on bringing in someone over the summer.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
It's my 13th anniversary with Chicago. I first saw the show on March 17, 2011. Ryan Lowe, Leigh Zimmerman and Jason Patrick Sands.

Too bad you missed its glorious Shubert Theatre era from 1996 to 2002. Those were thrilling times and when most of us regularly revisited the show to witness each exciting Roxie, Velma, and Billy replacement.

Happy Anniversary! I enjoy your posts and I am happy that Chicago is still running since it's one of my favorite shows. I first saw it in 1997 with Bebe and Marilu at the Shubert. I have revisited it twice at the Ambassador. Just today I was cooking my St. Patrick's stuff and it got crowded in the kitchen and I literally said He ran into my knife 10 times! We had a good chuckle.
thinking of trying for rush/SRO for Robyn's Velma debut tomorrow. Can't get there until the afternoon though.
FYI, Colt Adam Weiss is back for two weeks covering Denny Paschall's vacation.

apparently, Chicago hasn't been selling rush tickets during Madix's run, but they did sell out of SRO this morning. Hurder's Velma debut is soldout.

I'm probably going April 14 as I'm free that day. I'm sure there'll be audio out there somewhere after tonight's show.

I hate the wig on Robyn. I miss the understated 'cool' factor of Bebe's pixie cut or Ann Reinking's slicked back bun. These wigs don't fit the style of the production, to me.
I believe the Velmas get to pick their wigs. Marable's was horrible. Amra, Brenda Braxton and Bianca used their natural hair. I think Terra did as well.

I revisited Chicago last night primarily to see Robyn Hurder as Velma. It has also been a couple years since I had last seen the show. Robyn Hurder did not disappoint. This is her showiest role yet - she gets to show off her singing, acting, and dancing chops. She’s a true triple threat in every single way.
What I was NOT expecting tonight was to be completely blown away by Ariana Madix. She has the audience eating out of the palm of her hand. A truly phenomenal Broadway debut. I can’t say enough good things about her performance.
The entire cast was great - loved Max Von Essen as Billy. This show can be hit or miss depending on the cast at any given time, but tonight I was reminded just how much I love this show and production. It’s always a treat to see a long-running favorite in tiptop shape!

Bianca Marroquin is back at the Ambassador Theatre beginning April 8th....as Roxie!! Bianca and Robyn! What a dynamic duo!!

Has anyone done the rush/standing room as of late? I know it's Madix's last week so it may be crazy, but a standing room seat is a much better price than what they're offering currently.

I've heard they're not offering rush during Madix's run, only SRO. Tuesday's show(also Hurder's Velma debut) had 15 people in line before the box office opened.

Rachel Chase is set to return to "Chicago" sometime in May. Also, Jessica Ernest (Go to Hell Kitty and Roxie Hart understudy) announced on Instagram that she is a mommy to be...sometime in October 2024.
