Even if she’s not the greatest dancer or singer (per reports), I feel like there have been far worse people they’ve brought aboard. If anything, as long as she can hold a note, she can do as many a Roxie have done and just act through the song."
Chicago does have rush tickets, in person for $49. I think it's one of the rushes you can get after 10am and even when Pam Anderson was in the show I saw her through a rush ticket.
Rush has in person rush that's usually easily obtainable.

Really? Wow. Literally ANY time I went (and I’m talking no Star casting - just needed something to see) to rush, I was told no, they only have standing room when sold out.

Their policy is like any other Broadway show offering in-person rush. Available when the box office opens on a first come basis. From past experiences, it's usually between 20-24 tickets.
I got a single rush ticket for last night's performance about 10 minutes before curtain. Orchestra, Row H, seat 12. Did not have a problem at the box office at all. Mira, despite some hesitancy in her dancing, won me over by the end. I've seen Chicago 8 times post-pandemic and 23 times overall and it rarely disappoints. I'm glad that they continue to stunt cast Roxie to give us New Yorkers a reason to return. And at $49 a pop, it's always worth it.
I'll take a wild guess and say that it'll be Max Von Essen returning as Billy.

Mutu, Grovey & Bokhour are now there through Nov. 2.

No word on a new Billy or Amos."
Sophie Carmen Jones is Velma Kelly until December 14th.

Oh this one hurts. I’m a huuuge fan of Mira Sorvino for over 30 years now so learning I would finally being able to see her on stage was so exciting. Unfortunately this just isn’t the right fit for her and I’m being as kind as I can with that wording.
But that’s wasn’t even the worst part of tonight. I’ve seen this production God knows how many times over the past three decades and this was the first time I sat there thinking “it’s time to close up shop”. The half-filled audience was BORED and everyone onstage seemed to have even less energy than the audience did. It’s like seeing “Perfect Crime” now. This was (sadly) painful tonight.
How was Sophie Carmen Jones? Is there anyone else aside from Pamela Anderson or Ariana Madix who can give the show a lift?

it's shame the producers have dragged this out and continue to have it limp along for however much longer. there's a few new ensemble members, but it's truly time to close it up. it's grosses lately also indicate it needs to shutter.

I've been waiting patiently for you to weigh in, so this is disappointing. Is it the dancing, singing, or acting that isn't landing? She looks like a million bucks, at least.
I saw the show Saturday night and agree about Mira, who I also adore. She was just not comfortable on that stage and had little to no stage presence.
Some may have wondered why I favor Chicago the musical so much. Once I saw it for the first time on St. Patrick's Day 2011, I was hooked. Over the years, I have met quite a few of the cast members at the stage door. I've had a couple of opportunities for a back stage visit. I remember Ryan Lowe (Mary Sunshine) because he was collecting money using a red bucket. We've been acquainted over the years, since 2011. Another cast member who has made an impression is Jason Patrick Sands. I remember him when he played the role of Don in A Chorus Line. He reminded me of a blonde Beach Boy. He holds an impressive record of going into one show after the other. Essentially, I follow Chicago as one would follow individual players of a sports team like the Yankees or Jets. What Chicago cast member has made an impression on you?

Rumor is Kate Baldwin is the next Roxy

Absolutely not. Baldwin has a solid career; even in regional theaters, there's no need for her to jump into this show just for a paycheck.

I just saw the show over Labor Day weekend and the audience was like a rock concert from the moment the show started. I see the show frequently (38 times over 19 years) and it’s more common now to see crazed audiences than it used to be. The only time the audience isn’t nuts is when a stunt cast is in the show, like when Erika Jayne was in it, you could just tell all her fans absolutely hated the show and they brought the energy down quite a bit. But when it’s just two Broadway actresses in the lead parts? The show is still dynamite.
Max Clayton is back in Chicago covering for Jeff Gorti who is out on leave temporarily.

Is that a rumor you just decided to start?

Kate Baldwin is a Tony nominee and one of the best lyrical sopranos we have. She is better than that and also the role would not fit her AT ALL.
If OP said Kate ROCKWELL, I’d be more inclined to believe it since it would coincide with her departure from HEATHERS.
Any thoughts on a possible replacement for Mira Sorvino past Nov. 2nd? Also, maybe it would be a good idea for a new Search For.....with the emphasis on Velma. It wouldn't hurt the show to create some buzz. The original Search For Roxie garnered some decent publicity for the show. Just thinking out loud.

Are you thinking Kate Hudson? Because that would make a lot more sense.
