I think the hesitation is that they did a recording for the London cast, which has Patti and is very similar (similar in that it's the same production). I am still MAJORLY holding out hope as I need this cast on a recording, but I would guess that is why they haven't done it yet."

I find the London recording almost unlistenable. Too many in that cast sing the songs, conscious of sound, rather than acting the characters believably. I was so relieved that the American cast is loaded with acting talent, not just singing talent. This needs to be recorded for posterity!
