"A national tour is expected to begin in fall 2009"
....they want to loose more money. Granted, it might do slightly better on the road, but still.

Bryan is preparing for his goodbye cruel world speech.
He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

Just saw the matinee today from front row mezzanine, and enjoyed it far more than I expected to. Great choreography and a ton of energy. But I'm sitting here and for the life of me I can't dredge up the tune of a single song from my head -- talk about non-memorable. Why does that scenario remind me so much of Legally Blonde? I think Harriet Harris was the best thing in the show.

IT IS TRULY SAD TO SEE THIS SHOW GO! It was nice to have a fun clever big bouncy musical comedy on Broadway. Something that wasnt trying to have "new" styles of music. Was not afraid to be innocent slightly dirty fun. And this show was that to many people. What a sad day. This and Xanadu were the two best musicals of the season. ITH and PS are overrated and off putting to the traditional Broadway theatre goer! It is sad that this great piece of entertianment has left so quickly.

So anyone think the current cast will get first dibs for the tour?
Also? Will it go equity or non equity?

Enjoyed it much more than Passing Strange.
I think it will do well on the road if the tour actually goes off as scheduled. There is life beyond Broadway.
What are the odds of a cast album since they are taking it on the road?

Is anyone really surprised ? Well, I don't want to sound mean, but the news leave me completely cold ! It was one of the worst things I've seen in my life on a stage, with the exception of what jay said ! And I'm shocked to hear that people would want a cast recording, so they can hear this horrible score again, but to each his own ! I am sure that the talented members of the cast will find work real soon and I'll be happy if the abominable James Snyder is never allowed to get near a leading role again ! Sorry if I sound harsh, but that's how I feel ! I'm still mad about those two and a half hours of my life I'll never get back again !

I agree that a tour is just another way to lose money and it will almost definitely be Non-Equity.
And a CD will be yet another way to lose cash.
Let the thing die.
MOVE ON!

I feel really bad for Nick Blaemire. First Glory Days closed after one performance, and now this is closing. I haven't seen either shows, but I can't believe how awful that must be for him. Just shows how tough the business really is I guess.

saw it in la jolla and was not impressed. the leads were miscast and the score and book mediocre. not surprised to hear about the show's early demise.

Loose
Loose is an adjective, the opposite of tight or contained.
My shoes are loose
I have a loose tooth
There's a dog running loose in the street
Lose
Lose is a verb that means to suffer the loss of, to miss.
I win! You lose!
Don't lose your keys
I never lose bets

I could totally see 9 to 5 going here...although I think Two Cities would play better at the Marquis and 9 to 5 would be best suited for the Hirschfeld.

I think the reason TALE--- waited so long to come is they knew it close and wanted the Marquis. I want 9-5 to be in a theatre. Not a theatre/hotel.

Disappointing but not surprising. I managed to get tickets for Saturday night off TDF, so at least I'll get to see it before it closes.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

What a waste of three perfectly good Tony Nominations.
"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

well I guess I can strike this show from my must see list in August. On the bright side, now I can squeeze in Xanadu.
