Oh?
I don't like this. I find Dee's voice to be very irritating.
I don't mind her voice, I just think she is the dullest person to watch on stage.
Her voice sounds like her mouth is always shaped like an "O"

I love coleen! She is amazing! She has been nothing but nice to me when I have seen her at the stage door! i have been able to get pictures with her without her making a deal about it!
I to would love to see her reprise her role with wicked! but she did have an audition with a current broadway show today, hope it went well!!!

I'm happy for Dee to take over. Now I don't have to travel to Chicago to see her.
For all the people on here that don't want to see her well it leaves us people that do want to see her.

Actually, when I saw Nicole, she didn't riff too much. Some, but not a lot. Her acting is what really reminded me of Sho. I love how she's hard core, even in the beginning :) The opening scenes when the rest of her classmates are already against her, she just has this attitude...she's hurting, but she's like, "well, screw it, you guys are jerks." I like that take on the character.
As far as riffing goes, I personally think it makes performance more entertaining and spices it up. I remember when Kristy started riffing in Chicago - I was pleased.
Ugh Dee's voice is so gross.
I think riffing is Ok if it's done in taste. But Shoshana (as much as I love her) kinda makes it unbearable.
for the video, it get great around 2:03 *rolls eyes*

How long will Dee be on Broadway?
hopefully not very long...

Now with Dee being cast, this makes me wonder who else auditioned for the role.

the thing I like about nicole was her comic timing.
Nicole was excellent as Elphaba and will be missed...
I believe she's contracted for the normal 9 months unless it's diffrent. Most Elphaba's and Glinda have 9 month contracts to a year...then if they choose to continue they extend for another 6 months.
In the past there have been temporary Elphabas and Galindas who filled in while producers continue searching for another actress who would agree to the 9 month contract. I hope that might be the case.

Meh, I don't really care for her either way. She has unjustifiably rabid fans which is always a put off (telling us we're wrong and that she's, like, the most amazing singer ever isn't going to change our opinion). To her credit, she is modest at least. The same can't be said for Jennifer Dinoia who, heaven knows why, thinks she's the greatest thing since God.

Um How do you figure?

Marcie Dodd was only on Broadway for two months. Nichole and Kerry for 6 months each, if I remember correctly.
Marcie was a temp. Nicole has to go for a movie opening or something, and Kerry had to go back to London to finish her run there.

I think Kerry's shorter run was due to extremely strict international Equity roles. The producers over at the London production would let her do anything she wants as long as they get her back on their stage.

I figure because she was a bitch as stagedoor and many people reported how stuck up she was regarding herself despite being weak voiced with the most awful phrasing. Someone fire her and bring back Saycon or Dan'yelle already.

Dan'yelle was never on Broadway and did not know how to manage her voice for a role like Elphaba, let her stay with Nala.
Anyway, Dee is nice at the stage door just extremely shy, but she is very far from stuck up; and just cause she doesn't kill her voice from over-doing it doesn't mean she has a weak voice.
