Posted: 7/26/09 at 10:26amAdamGreer, I completely agree about about Kate Loprest. She's definitely one of my favorite Glindas, and I never understood why more people were not in love with her. Great take on the character. She and Kristy Cates were outstanding together. Maybe the best pair I've seen.

Posted: 7/26/09 at 6:41pmWhat???? I used to actually like Annaleigh... then I saw other Glindas, and saw the error of my ways. What is happening with Helene Yorke? I actually really liked her in the role :/ I haven't really ever heard Julia sing haha, off to youtube I go!

Posted: 7/26/09 at 7:15pmI think you mean first. Marcie and Helen'e 's contracts don't end until either febuary or march, while Katie Rose Clarks ends at the end of August, and Donna in September. (or so I've heard)

'Alli & Nicole want to come back eventually together.'
^^ I really hope that is true. I'd be on the first flight back to NYC to see them again..

"Murney has the vibrato of a bleating goat."
Was that necessary? She is talented and such a sweetheart! She works so hard!

Posted: 7/26/09 at 9:16pmSaw Dee today, and she didn't bother me that much. Her singing was really good, and her acting was fine. Especially during the cornfield confrontation scene, she really got into it. Maybe she improved since she last did the show?

and i heard that julia murney and annaleigh ashford will be taking over the second national tour, i am excited about julia, but annaleigh :P eww
Wicked caused Julia so much damage to her voice & I doubt she would do it again. The only appealing parts of the second tour are Marilyn Caskey as Morrible & Tom McGowan as The Wizard.

Posted: 7/26/09 at 10:26pmI really wasn't fond of Tom McGowan as the Wizard. He had the best singing voice of any wizard I have seen, but his portrayal of the wizard just seemed a little off to me. Marilyn Caskey and Helene Yorke I adored though. Not so fond of the stand-by for Marcie though.

Posted: 7/26/09 at 10:38pmI wish Anne Brummel, Elphaba understudy, would get a chance to go on. I saw her as Grizabella in 2004 (Who happened to be be Dee Roscioli's replacement) & she was phenomenal. I haven't seen Tom but loved his work in film & TV. Whether he is bad or not I would still be overjoyed to see him. Hopefully he gets a chance to take over on Broadway eventually.

Seriously, the 2nd Tour's cast is amazing! The only downfall for me is Marcie Dodd. Although I love her voice, I found her to be a very upset Elphaba and would scream many lines. I do adore her and appreciate anyone I get to see live, but the rest of the cast is amazing! I found Marcie very rude and rushed at stage door, which made my day kind of saddened as to all I was looking forward to was meeting her.
. However, Kristine Reese is the nicest person I have ever met at stage door, as well as Helene Yorke. Each whom have wrote me long notes and emails thanking me for the support and etc. I hope I get to see Anne or Carrie next time!

Posted: 7/26/09 at 11:32pm^^ I will second that the second tour is amazing. I have to say, you are making me less sad that I didn't get to see Marcie haha. I would have stage doored, but I had a 5 hour drive home, and was not very motivated to look for the stage door in a theatre I had never been even in the same state as haha.

I met Marcie a few times in NYC and everytime she was very nice even if she was in a hurry. She must have been having a bad day(which happens to everyone).

Donna's contract on 1NT is only 9 months? She's done in September? Can anyone confirm?
#219re: Dee Roscioli Takes Over Elphaba on Broadway on July 21
Posted: 7/27/09 at 12:03pmDonna said in an interview (although I cannot provide a link because I forget where I read it) That she was not going on in Denver and her contract will end sometime before then. Katie however has been telling people her last show will be the very last performance in San Diego. Donna has been rumored to leave the same day.

I AGREE!!!!!! I love EVERY singer with fast vibrato!!! It gives their voice such color and flair. bwaylvsong, next time one of your teachers tells you to tone down on your vibrato, remind them of singers like Raul Esparza, Audra McDonald, and Julia Murney

Posted: 7/27/09 at 12:22pmI love to stage door, but I see what ya mean. Why is it the argument for everyone's favorite Elphaba/Glinda is partly "AND THEY WERE SOOOOOOO NICE AT THE STAGE DOOR!!! OMG, SWEETEST PERSON EVERER!"... that shouldn't really matter that much.
