Dear God, please don’t let it be a Ryan Murphy show unless it’s gonna be Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon (who “kinda” played sisters in FEUD).

Bob Greenblatt is one of several EPs on The Gilded Age.
The TV EP may be collaborating with a more experienced stage producer, too; that's quite common.

Also, two things -
1. Who knows if this is true.
2. How odd that it’s so difficult to think of tv sisters. I think if this IS true and talks about actresses we’ve been waiting to see on stage again, it might be a show from the 80s or 90s and I’m thinking probably a drama show.

How about Rachel and Jill Greene from Friends? Now that would be something to see Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Anniston on Broadway.
I also think it could be Nicola Walker and Annabel Scholey from The Split.

"It would mark the major return of the two back to the great white way."
Kind of narrows it down, no? If, as Jordan pointed out, this is true at all. So, eliminates the "Green" sisters.

Tag, that’s one of my alltime favorite TV shows, actually. It introduced the world to Ashley Judd. Thank God, they finally put it on DVD a few years ago.

Even if there’s no basis in fact, I love a parlor game! Looking at the clue again, it says the revival would mark the major return of the two to Broadway. So, we’re looking for some (significant?) level of Broadway experience. Also agree the producer could be key here, and I also thought of Fellowes but not sure he fits.
I’m sticking with Baranski and Nixon, but love some of the other ideas.
Just see “return” point already made above. Great minds….

"(Sisters)...introduced the world to Ashley Judd."
Actually, that would not be Sisters, but Star Trek: The Next Generation. I was not a big Trek fan, but when I saw the episode on which she first appeared, I said, "now there is one to watch". I did not even know she was a Judd until much later. Check her out as Lefler in 2 episodes.

My issue with that is the EP involvement. That signals to me that this is a current show, and a producer trying to make hay with their cast in downtime between seasons (or after the show ends). Like Ryan Murphy working with various TV collaborators in Long Day's Journey and Boys in the Band, or Barbara Broccoli producing Daniel Craig's Macbeth.
An unrelated point:
Given the current turmoil and cost-cutting at Warner Bros Discovery, the owner of HBO, I would be shocked if GILDED AGE is renewed for a third season. It's a costly series, it got entirely shut out of the Emmy nominations save for one category, and its viewership and reviews weren't stellar. Which leaves time for its cast to return to Broadway, and leaving Baranski without a full-time TV gig for the first time since 2009.

Random guess that popped into my mind after seeing Tag’s post…Ellen Greene and Swoosie Kurtz…with EP Bryan Fuller. (Pushing Up Daisies)

Or Dan Jinks.
How has ARSENIC & OLD LACE aged? Could that be a candidate for a revival (with or without a script polish)?

I second Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon. The two play sisters on Gilded Age as previously mentioned and if you look at the top of the DM post the email says Brook@broadway.com and their family name on Gilded Age is Brook, seemingly confirming the two.

If Cynthia Nixon does a musical, I guess we could say…Miranda Sings.

Re: Baranski and Nixon. Although Baranski's return to Broadway would be noteworthy, Nixon has been appearing on Broadway more regularly having won another Tony not too many years ago for The Little Foxes. Would Nixon appearing in a new show be considered a "return?"

A 6-year absence from Broadway after a Tony-winning performance is enough of a return to call it that in a Deuxmoi blind item.

I will also throw support around the Baranski/Nixon theory but am highly skeptical their return will be the musical, MAME. I just can't imagine a 18 million dollar revival of a show like that resting on casting that isn't a major major star. Can MAME even be revived in the current climate on Broadway?

Finally Sarah Michelle Gellar and Michelle Trachtenberg reunited after years apart from Buffy.
