Are there any discounts, rush tickets, or student priced tickets for Yiddish Fiddler, or is it likely to be on TDF or at TKTS soon? I’m planning to see it in early December, likely a Thursday matinee.
I saw this production many times at Stage 42 through Today Tix Rush tickets. It was a great cheaper way to see a show you loved over and over! But I haven’t seen any discounts for this return engagement. I’ve been checking Theatremania, Today Tix and TDF a lot and haven’t seen any discounts there. It’s not up today for the first performance at TKTS either. Maybe because it’s a 7-week run there won’t be any discounts? I don’t know but I think I’ll have to dig deep and pay full price this time!
I went to the invited dress last night. The show, if anything, is even better at New World. Same number of seats as at Stage 42, but the theatre feels so much more intimate that the show only gains in power. Most of the cast has returned. Only new principals are Lisa Fishman as Yente and Michael Nigro as Fyedke, both excellent. Fishman is a sly, understated Yente. Nigro opens up to sing in "To Life" and is thrilling, and strong in his scenes. Skybell is remarkable, as ever.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
I've heard such good things about it that I will (reluctantly) pay $116 or $142 for a seat if I have to, but I'm just surprised there aren't any discounts yet! I'm looking at Monday's show and the orchestra is maybe a third sold, maybe even less. I'll keep checking. :)
Hi! Has anyone seen any discounts pop up for this yet? Cheapest I've been able to find is $77 on TodayTix, which I'm likely willing to do. (I saw this production a few years ago and thought it was phenomenal.) But all the dates I've searched on Telecharge are not selling well, so I'm surprised they haven't released any codes or rush/lottery info ...
I bought it at TKTS for last week's Thursday matinee. I can't remember exactly what we paid. Maybe around $79? (Just checked and it's on TKTS today for $84.)
When I saw A Sherlock Carol through Show Score my seats were row G in the middle, though I think that may be a different theater within New World Stages.
In general I find their seats to usually be a touch worse than what I might get through TDF but still fairly good, especially for the price point.
My friend and I had row B orchestra for Fiddler through Show Score at a Thursday matinee. It is such a thrilling show. Skybell is so wonderful as Tevye. He brings such heart to the role. I had seen this Fiddler years ago at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, and this production if just as good, if not better.
This theater has a balcony. I’ve never sat up there, but the view is probably very good. I would suggest looking for Thursday matinee tickets if the timing works for you.
