This thread summarized:
Black person plays Piangi - Racist
Black person plays Phantom - Fantastic
Separate seats in bus - Racist
Separate Awards based on skin color - Fantastic
Lyrics about niggas - Racist
Lyrics about white bitches - Fantastic
Hard work for black people - Racist
Hard work for white people - Fantastic
Comparing every black person in 2015 to a slave - Racist
Comparing every black person in 2015 to a slave - Fantastic
Double agenda anyone?
Combine this with a sauce of "Ostrich behaviour": I don't want to hear anything about it! Stop, I want to put my head in the sand and run away and can't handle the fact that racism is a 2 way street because I only prefer to see one............" and you actually have quite a good summary indeed.

Of course a black Phantom is fantastic; Norm Lewis was a complete and total boss in the role. ![]()

I actually think there is nothing good or bad about skin color, but just thought he didn't sing the role that well.

I thought so.
Let's hope this 1-sided selective racism brainwash in people disappears soon.

Black person plays Piangi - Racist No
Black person plays Phantom - Fantastic Yes
Separate benches in bus - Racist There aren't benches in buses
Separate Awards based on skin color - Fantastic Okay
Lyrics about niggas - Racist Not always
Lyrics about white bitches - Fantastic Not always
Hard work for black people - Racist Says who?
Hard work for white people - Fantastic Then why are so many white people on welfare?
Comparing every black person in 2015 to a slave - Racist Comparing in what way?
Comparing every black person in 2015 to a slave - Fantastic Says who?
Also, a white person calling another white person a white bitch may be a lot of things, but racist ain't one of them.

I'm so glad somebody finally had the courage to start this...conversation. Again. What that one person said was just so spot-on. And that other person is just a baiting troll. And don't get me started on that ignorant kid who needs some life experience before opening their mouth.
Copy and paste the above the next time this thread gets created. Kthnx.

Good, I'm glad that we agree that black actors can play Italian (Meditteranean Race, sub-race of caucasian) including make-up and accent too. Step in the right direction.
"Black person plays Phantom - Fantastic Yes"
Actually, it's only fantastic if the person is great in the role. Talent above skin color you know.
"Separate seats in bus - Racist
Separate Awards based on skin color - Fantastic Okay"
Separation is not "Okay". It is wrong. Either way.
"Lyrics about niggas - Racist Not always
Lyrics about white bitches - Fantastic Not always"
It depens if it suits your 1-way street view of racism? Racism is a 2 way street.
"Hard work for black people - Racist Says who?
Hard work for white people - Fantastic Then why are so many white people on welfare?"
The lady in the clip. Although I did not quite get where she was coming from. It seemed like she compared white and black to slaves and had problems with the term "hard work" in general.
"Comparing every black person in 2015 to a slave - Racist Comparing in what way?"
In the way of not treating them as normal people today because of the slave history and bringing it up with every subject possible. Examples above.
"Comparing every black person in 2015 to a slave - Fantastic Says who?"
Well, it must be fantastic as almost every black person and many posters on here do it.
"Also, a white person calling another white person a white bitch may be a lot of things, but racist ain't one of them."
I wasn't talking about that remark, but about the situation I described earlier.

Racism is not a two way street. It is a one way street like countless one way streets around the world. Don't act as if one way streets don't exist.

One way streets do exist. But racism is not one of them.
At least 50% of the separation today comes from black people. Not towards white people, but towards themselves.

But you guys, it's your fault for engaging him. It's not his fault for saying it or the board's fault for letting this go on and on! It's gone on so long Mister Matt had to post a lecture similar to the one he already posted several pages ago!

And Robert Guillaume was reportedly quite successful in the part in the LA production, 20 years ago. If there was any controversy about the casting I missed it, and a close friend was playing Raul at the time.

I'm agreeing with you, Namo, but to put it another way: if racism is a two-way street, one way has 8 lanes while the other way has just the one.

At first I read it as Panera, and I couldn't figure out who said that was racist.

I was sexually attracted to the Piangi in the Phantom movie.
