I've seen the following understudies and thought they all did a terrific job!
Savannah Wise (U/S for "Sherrie" - 2x at ROA off Broadway, 2x on Broadway) Jeremy Jordan (U/S for "Drew" - 3x) Tad Wilson (U/S for "Dennis" -1x, U/S for Hertz-1x off Broadway) Jeremy Woodard (U/S for Stacee-3x off-Broadway, U/S for Franz-1x off Broadway)
Additionally, the following have gone on - wasn't in attendance, but heard they did great as well:
I've seen Savannah do Sherrie and Michale do Lonnie. Savanah is wonderful in this role and Mitch's understudy was good too. He had a great voice- the only problem was I thought he was rushing some of the lines. It may have been his first time in the role- so that would be understandable. I saw Tad do Dennis and Hertz. He was teriffic.
I've seen both Michael and Mitch as Lonny (pretty good considering I've only seen the show 4 times), I enjoyed Michael. There were some things I thought he did better than Mitch, but Mitch is very "Jack Black" to me and I like that.

Could anyone tell me about the lottery for this show? I am going to NYC this weekend and my friend and I want to try the lottery if it isn't too crazy. Thanks
Not sure about how it's been on weekends, but it is SO worth a try...just make sure that you get there on time (start taking names 2 hrs before curtain, draw names a half hour later, I think).

Three songs! Don't Stop Believing, High Enough, and Here I Go Again. Awesome!! They were spot on. The crowd was good. Lots of signage and ROA T-shirts.
They interviewed Constantine and Amy. James lot a lot of screams from the crowd.
Very nice promo for the show. The weather looked perfect. I saw friends on my tv, too!!
Jekyll & Hyde back on Broadway! / Rock of Ages - 5 Tony nominations! Awesome!
I thought the group numbers lost some vitality with the close camera work, but that cast has so much energy, so kudos. Constantine sounded great for so early. Amy sounded really good on most but had a hard time not sounding like she was shouting on the high parts of High Enough. Here I Go Again should be their go-to number for these performances. It's the best group number needing the least background to make sense. Surprisingly, Don't Stop Believin' felt contrived with all the little, individual solos, even though, within the context and ending of the show , it makes perfect sense.
Fantastic job. I couldn't imagine doing that so early in the morning.
Constantine is going to be on the Today Show with Kathy Lee and Hoda, the fourth hour on Thursday, June 4th. Hr's going to sing an original song written by David Friedman and Kathie Lee, and I hope it's a good one.
i'm going to try the lottery tomorrow. hopefully i see it before the Tonys. i know everyone on this board is mixed about ROA but i think i'm going to love it. do you think the lottery will be packed on a Wed night? and where are the seats?

They're dark on Wednesdays actually. So I doubt that lotto will be too packed.
The seats are partial view in the left and right orchestra. Some of them are really ****ty, but some of them are really great. Either way, I enjoy them because you're so up close.
There is a modified schedule this week, they are not going to be dark tomorrow, there are actually two shows:
Tuesday, June 2: NO PERFORMANCE Wednesday, June 3: 2pm & 8pm Thursday, June 4: 8pm Friday, June 5: 8pm Saturday, June 6: 2pm & 8pm Sunday, June 7: 2pm only
Totally enjoying the cast album. I was actually worried when they kept talking about how they wanted it to sound like a rock album that it would end up being some "Best Hits of the '80s" cover album, but they actually did a good job of capturing the spirit of the show.
I *LOVED* ROA so much more than I thought I would. I was at the TKTS booth and took a chance on it, and I am so glad I did. I am planning to drag some friends back to see it again!
Lottery seats for ROA are the front row (4 seats) and the far left and right orchestra (total of about 20-24 seats, don't remember exact numbers).
Today might be a good day for the lotto as they don't normally have a Wednesday show and people might be less inclined to attend.
As the show's popularity increases, like any other show, lotteries become more difficult. I think the ROA is still relatively easy, but not an automatic win.
