Nina Arianda will not be playing Olive.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

They are both divas, for sure, but different kinds of divas, so it'll be fun to watch.

I really appreciate that Patti still auditions for shows that she's interested in! Granted, with something like this, and Woody Allen involved in the project, of course they're auditioning. The combinations of rumors have me wondering if Donna Murphy was cast, though both women auditioned.

I thought in one of those Broadway.com things a few years ago she said that she "Doesn't audition" when someone asked her for tips. I guess she really wanted this part..

Show is called War Paint. By grey gardens team. Friend is in a reading of it now. Based on famous makeup designers in 50s who were huge rivals....one stole the other's husband etc.

That person asked what her audition song was. I doubt if she's seen for a show she has to sing them 12 or 16 bars of something.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Sound very cool ... but I have to ask, how many shows are those Grey Gardens guys working on right now?
My my count, it's nineteen.

I'm guessing Patti would be playing Rubenstein and Murphy would be Arden?
