FINDING NEVERLAND OBC recording — Page 4

The screenshot is from yesterday evening (around 6 pm). But they probably assume that no one in Germany is having an eye on it anyway. ![]()

It's now available on iTunes! Listening to it on Apple Music right now because my pre-order hasn't kicked it yet. It sounds great - better than it did in the theatre, actually, from what I can remember. I usually never say that about an OBCR unless it's live.

Listening to the OBCR, and it reminds me how baffled I am how an amazing cast, story, and creative team got together and made THIS. What an odd, amateurish mess. Saw it in previews and was just as dumbfounded then.
The movie is such a delicate, pale, grim look at how stories are created and inspired. The show is a big, frivolous, splashy exploitation of theatricality.

I just listened to all the iTunes samples. I won't be buying this album because I'm too attached to the A.R.T. versions of the songs, and the A.R.T. cast.
Aidan Gemme sounds wonderful though.
Random thing that thrilled me: the "Play" sample happens to have Josh Lamon and Paul Slade Smith's solos. Fabbo. :)

Edit: I don't like this cast recording. I heard the whole thing. That Irish accent is annoying.. I will stick to the two songs from the concept recording "Stronger" and "We Own the Night". Now I know why people were complaining about the score.. I get it now. I wanted to like it so bad.

Well, I loved the show, and I love the cast album. The sound quality, vocals, and orchestrations all sound great! So glad to get to hear these songs again!

It sounds great but I still can't get Jeremy Jordan's voice out of my head. I like some of the ART bootlegs better than this cast album.

SMH.

I just really hope Laura Michelle Kelly continues to get work on broadway. Her voice is so versatile and gorgeous. I know she did "king and I" at the muny... Do people think she would consider going in as Kelli's replacement if it was offered to her?
Posted: 7/17/15 at 2:47pm
I do think that she should be considered for the King and I.
On another note. Does anyone else think this will be nominated for the Grammy?

"On another note. Does anyone else think this will be nominated for the Grammy?"
I highly doubt it.

It seems to be selling well so far, at first place on Amazons musical soundtrack ranking right now.

Did they cut Laura's mermaid solo in Believe in the show? Cause it's sure as hell not on the recording.
Posted: 7/17/15 at 8:07pm
Is that why Believe sounds so boring on the cast album? I figured at first it was just the lack of visuals.

That makes me so angry. Laura deserves so much more than this ****ty show where the only good songs are hers.

I think the Grammy OBCR will be similar to Best Musical, so Fun Home, AAIP, SR! and maybe The Visit? Maybe The Last Ship will slip in there?

Oh please.

Yes, I'm sure she hates pergormi f every night. Poor thing.

The album is ok. I regret buying it only because I'm paying for the new itunes music service.
Posted: 7/17/15 at 10:46pm
It's still in the show, I think they probably cut it out of the recording because they cut all the lines out that lead up to the big note

Listening to this thanks to Apple Music (free subscription) and I'm liking some of the numbers.
Neverland and When Your Feet Don't Touch The Ground are truly beautiful.

Wow. That was difficult to sit through.

Does anyone else think Laura was to close to the mic on All that matters? I hear this weird sound on the track that sounds like she's too close to the microphone
