and I will be 'beyond excited' to read from afar your reaction to this show."
And I will not be comparing it to the original Broadway production nor will there be any comparisons to Streisand’s Fanny. That production was tailored to Streisand so the original book was altered extensively. This production is a new interpretation so any comparisons to either the original 1964 Broadway production, Streisand, or the 1968 film adaptation is moronic.
I know some people are very against expanding Nicky, but from what I read the only reason they cut his material was Sidney Chaplin's limited ability. Plus, Robbins telling them there wasn't any show and just focus on Babs. That's not a problem this time so I'm excited to see what could've been back then.

I felt exactly the same way about WSS. I honestly had no recall of the original only that I knew that I had seen it. Every moment I was transfixed as the music and story swept all around me and I wept at the beauty, and horror of such a senseless tragedy. I did chuckle at Streisand's Fanny-it's the opposite Down Under.
walked by one of those three panel video billboards in the subway this morning advertising this production. i have tix for this already, so i’m beyond excited for it, but boy do i hate the artwork for this production.
A bit baffled the marquee isn’t up yet at the August Wilson Theatre by now as they literally begin previews in days, but the moment it’s fully up, I’m heading over there and taking photos for y’all b**ches.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Why on earth isn't the marquee up??? Tech should be starting imminently, since the first preview is March 26.
Could it have anything to do with Slave Play possibly doing a film or documentary? Obviously wouldn't perform IN the Wilson, but perhaps there's some component happening outside? SP closed on Broadway January 23, but it ends its Ahmanson run this Sunday, March 13.

There were zero videos of Midler's Dolly singing. It's the suspense element here, like withholding video of Kidman as Ball in the first Ricardos trailer, which caused a firestorm in social media ("How bad is Nicole, that we can't see her act as Lucy?" It's not an unfair parallel. Since Kidman ended up with an Oscar nomination, it remains to be seen if the tactic will pay off with Funny Girl. But clearly, no one wants to risk unflattering footage* -- especially audio -- of the Feldstein Fanny floating around before the opening.
*subjectively determined, i.e. with the possibility of unfavorable comparison to Streisand's vocals. Managing a profile of the Feldstein vocals is necessarily part of a public relations strategy for this revival.

Previews are selling well. There is no need to "give away the show" at this point. I'm sure there will be some b-roll and probably a cast album after it eventually opens. Don't feed the vultures until the production is fully ready. With publicizing musicals, you don't want to "take the bloom off the rose" by giving away too much too early.
