My girl Daphne is the definitive Mimi. She was brilliant. No one else I've seen has brought the intensity to the role that Daphne did in originating it. Sexy, fiery, vulnerable... and that voice.

I saw Tallia Brinson on tour and I had already had the cd and I thought Tallia rocked she was GREAT. Everytime I think of Mimi I think of her, she was AWESOME.

Karmine Alers, hands down.

Then Daphne. Anyone BUT Krystal or Melanie B is good in my opinion. But Karmine Alers just blows the roof off the theater.

Daphne ::sigh the good old days:: , MARCY was incredible.. I was so sad when DRV left but, in came marcy the goddess... after those 2, i loved yassmin alers. She had the acting chops down. I also thought even though her voice was shot was Krysten Cummings. She was nuts lol. I also liked Karen Olivo =D she was excellent , Karmine was ok too.. I saw so many mimis i dont even remember.

out of the 4 ive seen (Scary Spice, Krystal L. Washington, Karmine Alers, and Lorraine Velez) the best is Karmine. Daphne is the best though!

Antonique Smith, followed closely by Dominique Roy. Karmine is actually my least favorite...although I haven't seen her in the role since she was with the Benny Tour.

Erm. No one. If you're talking about Mel B, she is NOT fat. Her legs were thicker than many of the other Mimis, but she was nowhere near fat. A little more normal sized than the usual petite woman in the part.

Scary Spice as Mimi.....A little hard to picture but I've never seen her perform in anything but those spice girl concerts and frankly taht doesnt fill me with a whole lot of confidence.

I agree with Kris2, I wouldn't call her fat. Sure she wasn't as tiny as most of the Mimis but she is no where near fat or overweight. Sorry it just kind of bugs me when people call others fat based off an image of someone who happens to be superskinny and small whether it be their natural body type or otherwise. But I wont get into that and go off the subject.

That's quite a list, erinrebecca. Very interesting. A lot of people you put in the bottom half of your list (who I didn't see), particularly Antonique, Jaime and Sharon, are usually ranked pretty high by other people's standards. Especially acting-wise. May I ask what you didn't like? I'd like to hear the other side of it for once.

Kris, I actually didn't dislike any Mimi I've seen, and like most fans, my list probably gets rearranged occasionally. :) I guess the main reason that it's configured that way is that the people on the lower half of the list are people I saw fewer times than those on the top half. Saskia will always be my favorite, though. She was different physically than any other Mimi I've seen. She was fairly tall and thin and was probably the most beautiful Mimi on my list. Her voice was gorgeous and her acting was beyond compare. I've also seen her as Nala in the Lion King and, even in that role, her acting was a highlight of the show. But god, what a voice.

Mel B, I thought, was fun in the role. Her voice wasn't that great and actually neither were her acting choices or her dancing but I'm not like the people who said she ruined the show for them. I've never found that in any performer, to be truthful. It's a show I love and I enjoy seeing different actors but the show's the thing, as they say, for me.

I'm not sure what it was about Antonique but I just did not enjoy her Mimi as much. She's a beautiful girl but just didn't do it for me onstage. Sharon's gorgeous and has a beautiful voice but I only saw her once so, perhaps if I'd seen her more often, she'd be higher on the list. Same with Jaime.

I think Marcy is my favorite if I'm sitting close to the stage. Her facial expressions were my favorite of any Mimi I've seen. She's a very subtle actor and I think would be fabulous on film. She's so tiny and pretty, you just wanna wrap her up and take her home. :) Krysten was wild and dangerous and crazy on the bars and was convincing that she lived that kind of lifestyle, and rumor has it that she actually did at times!

Looking at my list, Karmine should probably be higher. She has a beautiful voice. I was just watching a Cutting Room gig I have last night and listening to her sing Sisters is just pure joy. Such a beautiful voice. She is chock full of talent and it's nice that she has the role of Mimi back. And with that, I'll shut up because this is too long!

My vote is for Krystal Washington. I had the pleasure of seeing her last performance last night before the new Mimi starts. As mentioned by a previous post, her flowing tears after Angel's death also chokes me up every time.

Yassmin Alers. I wish I could have seen her more than once, but I remember LOVING everything about her performance. Second place goes to Karmine Alers, and third to Krystal Washington.

By reading this poll, I feel like I'm the only one who can't stand Daphne's singing voice.

erinrebecca, i agree with you about Mel b and Antonique. Mel was not great but she didn't ruin the show. I saw Antonique but I just didn't care for her as much as other people have. THe same with Krystal. I love her acting but her voice is just annoying to me.

yup...and i think rosario has the potential to be great...i am not knocking the other mimis i have seen...i just think that as of right now, daphne is the best mimi.

Yeah I have high hopes for Rosario as Mimi for the movie. I think she was a great choice.
