Favorite comical Broadway songs
re: Favorite comical Broadway songs#25
Posted: 6/20/04 at 9:57pmAnything from Avenue Q. Something strange is, Millie's considered a comedy, yet the only funny song is They Don't Know.

I forgot to mention the whole Hairspray!!! I've never laughed so hard in a theatre until I saw Hairspray last year...

Posted: 6/20/04 at 10:11pmWell, while Millie's music isn't hysterical, some of the songs have some pretty funny lines, and the dialogue/actions in the show are hilarious. Just think about the plot--that's pretty bizarre, and pretty funny in itself.

Posted: 6/21/04 at 1:36amlet's face it , EVEVERYTHING from forbidden broadway is funny. I especially love "Michael Crawford Sequence" from vol.3. Ditto about "what'cha gunna do?" from bat boy, "Suburbia Santa" from songs..., "tango:maureen" from rent. I absolutly love "what is this feeling?" from wicked when galinda says.."unusally and excedingly peculiar and all together quite impossible to describe..." and elphaba says,"blonde" There's also "the American dream" from miss saigon, And most everything from urinetown(that is one of the funniest show's i've ever seen!)"my strongest suit" from aida, "the swamps of home" from once upon a mattress and last but not least, AVENUE Q!!! The first time i heard "the internet is for porn" i couldn't stop laughing for an hour. I always laugh when he says, "ooo..sticks and stones kate monster!!"

Hands down - The Butler's Song from "So Long 174th Street". Once heard, never forgotten. Had the utter joy over the weekend to hear it again from it's originator, George S. Irving.
