well, I may be a bit outside of this most elite group...but I too was there at the first SO when the maiden voyage of "Pick A Little" was thrown up (pun intended) on the big screen at Joe's Pub. The hysteria was deaffening. (Namo, I know you were incognito, as usual, dearie).
Dolly had a broken ankle at the time. I ran him over with his stolen car, rumor had it. Anthony was oh, so there as well. Right Said Rick and Eddie were ...wee ones back then.
I am planning a nappy so as not to miss the end of the Tonys. Wouldn't miss another Shaiman premiere for all the mud in Margate, NJ. Have fun at the tony's y'all.
Love, Pati b Who's about to lose her firstborn tonight to Dallas Texas, permenately!
Thank you for your insight and news Mr. Shaiman. Its always great to see you posting on here. I hope Catch Me If You Can is going well, I cannot wait to see it!

Ah PatiB! This thread really IS the good old days.
And really, we can salute Marc Shaiman while referencing all the usual stuff til the bovines come home, but until you've aspirated soy milk while reading his riff on La Chiausa, can you really say you have lived?
I thought I smelled the old days. The musky, yet sticky sweet smell of BWW04. DAME, Namo, Pal, Pati B... it's almost intoxicating enough to make me forget the dead hooker in my trunk.
Bravo Mr. Shaiman. That closing number was easily the highlight of the evening.
