Consuelos? Meh. The rest sound a delight.
Just the other day I was thinking about Just In Time casting, and I thought to myself if only Mark Consuelos was a singer/dancer, and had the time for Broadway - he might be a draw. I don't frequently get the opportunity these days to watch their show, but he and Kelly Ripa still remain engaging when I do see it.

Mark Consuelos will be on Broadway at the same time as his son Joaquin, who's appearing in Death of a Salesman

Just saw this in London. While consistently amusing, it felt a bit creaky and predictable despite the excellent performances. Will be interesting to see what this cast does with it.
I have never seen or read this - and hello Rose Byrne (hopefully soon to be Oscar Nominated) so really looking forward to it. Although with limited space for my next NY trip, it might be between this and Fear Of 13

He’s gonna have a doozy of a time trying to host with Kelly and knock out performances. I see a lot of guest hosts and/or pre-tapes in the future. Rosie Perez struggled with it when she was doing FISH IN THE DARK and The View.
I was joking with my mother that they are about to suddenly announce Kelly in a show. Watch her end up being a guest narrator/Criminologist in ROCKY HORROR (like how they rotated it later on in the last revival post-Dick Cavett)

LIVE with Kelly & Mark already pre-tapes the Thursday and Friday episodes every week - sometimes a Wednesday or Monday. They are only in studio 3 times a week - Mark on Broadway or not.
Announcement on Wednesday's LIVE with Kelly & Mark.

FWIW, Maurice has pretty minimal stage time and only in the second act.

I’ve only seen the Joan Collins/Susannah York TV production which was dreadful, lots of screaming and not much real connection between the two outrageous bitchy leading characters. I think it might be a difficult play to pull off even with good actors.
I saw a regional production several years ago that had the horrible idea of casting men as the two primary female characters. (The less said, the better.) Despite that regrettable choice, I found the play quite funny and engaging on its own terms, especially the material for the maid. The Roundabout cast is strong -- I'm hoping this will be one of their excellent traditional productions of a throwback play like The Constant Wife, Heartbreak House and The Winslow Boy.

A few generations back, gay male playwrights were attacked by certain critics for what they saw as phony female characters who were really disguised gay men. That was crude and homophobic but then it seemed to swing back to an equally crude response where gay theater producers wanted to cast men in the female roles created by gay playwrights. I think those are equally misguided. I like the casting that Cole Escola has been doing with Oh Mary, it’s not one vs the other, drag vs female presenting but about the performer who might be great for the role.
