#TheView Should a little boy be gyrating like that on daytime TV? Where's the lady who went nuts about @WhoopiGoldberg toilet humor?
In other news: WTF is going on on #TheView...? What are these children doing?
@TheView wierd seeing kids sing about the funeral home. #TheView

It's probably a good thing that they didn't choose this song for the Tonys- I can't imagine the reaction it would get, even though it's one of the most purely entertaining moments in the show itself.

Oh, just wait until the twitter storm after Lucas performs Ring of Keys on the Tonys.

I thought the boys were lackluster. Maybe it's just me because I haven't seen the show and the number was out of context?
Re:#10

yeah, I wasn't exactly excited about the number, before or afterwards. I don't think it did any good for the show, especially considering the two boys can't sing.

I agree, I don't think that performance will sell tickets. But I also don't think "Ring of Keys" will sell many tickets either.

That happens a lot, they hurt the show more than they help it. I remember Rocky's performance at the Tonys last year, and how bad it made the show look. Also, they picked the most boring song from Violet to feature on GMA last year. I don't get it, but I figured they didn't think "Ring of Keys" was appropriate?

COME TO THE FUN HOME Performed on The View from Broadway's FUN HOME

To those criticizing the boys, I think they are suppose to sound like kids, not b'way stars. (That being said, they are a little off here.)
As I've said in another thread, I don't think any of Fun Home's songs work well out of context. Which makes these kind of appearances difficult.

I forgot how every time there's a performance from any Broadway musical on here people are saying it's bad for the show. It lacks the context, of course, but it was a fun and energetic performance.
Re:#16

They dont work well out of context at all, and the show seems to be selling really well without any television appearance necessary. But those Twitter comments...ouch.

Do you have as many Twitter identities as you do here? You "all" could reply.

Why are truncated performances of "It All Comes Back" or "Welcome to Our House On Maple Avenue" never considered?
Re:#19

I took more issue with the the annoying "rhythmic" clapping the audience felt compelled to do than the kids.
Re:#20

I thought it was a fun performance with cute kids. I did think the boys were better when I saw them in the show though.

I wasn't impressed with the boys in any way.

Sydney seemed a bit nervous at first, but she seemed to recover. I liked the boys' performance. They seem like real kids, playing a pretend game. Of course the show sets it up better, how they're simultaneously comfortable in the funeral home and spooked by it too.
