Is anyone seeing this performance on the 18th?

I'll be at the mat. Really anxious to see how Gerard will do.
Is this J. Groff's first miss? I've been out of the Spring loop.
Um, Jonathan Groff plays Melchior. Gallagher is Moritz.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. I'm really out of the loop.

OK - has Johnny G been out before?

Gerard is terrific! I wish I could go see him! Such a great guy, and performer.

Jon Groff missed only one Saturday (both shows) on July 14th in the entire run from Off B'way through now. Only John Gallagher has never missed a single performance, until this coming Saturday's planned absence to perform at the Philly Folk Festival with his band Old Springs Pike.

You are right Teka21--JGallagher has never missed a performance until this coming Sat. I will be there to give Gerard support. I s/w him the other day, he is really nervouse and said" Gee, I hope I don't suck!"...LOL, I am sure he will be terrific, giving the role his own stamp.

Gerard was great at the matinee. I was really surprised with how good he was. His singing was fantastic, and his acting pretty well done.
I also have to comment that Matt Doyle was brilliant. My favorite Otto by far.

I never would have suspected Doyle's Otto to be that great. I really do like Gerards, though.
How did they do Gerard's hair?
Same as Gallagher's. It looked really odd and wrong at first, but I got used to it as time went on.

So, how did the UsHeRiN' go?

Got dragged to the matinee..
Gerard was fine, equal to Gallagher.
Matt was not very good. I love Gerard's Otto the best.
The standout? 16 year old Jennifer Damiano as Martha.
Dragged, DRSisLove? I thought you were a big fan of SA.

Gerard was really good. John Gallagher has some big shoes to fill and Gerard did awsome. His hair looked good to me. I think he resembles John from afar with the hair and costume. His singing was good especially in the Bitch of Living. He tried so hard to pull of Moriz and he did. I thought the energy off the show was off though. Did anyone else notice that? It was definetly not Gerard's fault but it seemed like the energy was low... or something was sloppy. I don't know if it was because I was used to Kimberly conducting or what, but something seemed different. The chemestry between everyone felt odd like they were all a little tired. Mabey I'm not used to so many understudys.

I know this is off topic but does anyone know why Jon B. Wright didn't go on as Melchior on 7/14? According to ibdb.com, he understudies the part. Unless that was written out of his contract when Matt came into the show (which would be a little weird to mess with a contract before it was expired, but I guess not unheard of). Not that I have a problem with Matt Doyle, he was great as Melchi. And I hope Gerard had a great day on as Moritz.
Johnny B. doesn't understudy Melchior anymore.
I thought Gerard was really really brilliant.
Ken Marks and Lauren Pritchard on the other hand. . . wow.
And there is NO way that Jenn was the standout. Her's got a great voice, but she went flat a few times and her acting was just not that great.

I've been meaning to ask this question for a while: When was the switchout of Rob Devaney and Ken Marks made?
No clue. Rob has been around since Stephen started his vacation. Not quite sure what his purpose is. However, I'd love to see him as Adult Men. Updated On: 8/25/07 at 10:51 PM
