Anyone have details here? Would love to know if the "hand-framing" choreo is still there for the ensemble.

I assume you were looking in a mirror when you posted that comment.
What is going on in this thread?

Yet you’re the one bullying me in private messages? Hmm. Someone’s projecting their failures.
I would love to read more reviews of this production instead of this nonsense.
On a note that has about as much to do with the thread as the personal tiff erupting publicly and privately within its pages, the one thing I think I'll miss from Barrow Street is the pie before the show. The tastiest damn thing I ever did eat.
Just for gits and shiggles, and because if this thread is going to be dragged off-topic it might as well be tangentially related, I decided to google "Sweeney Todd pie recipe" to see what crazy nonsense might come up and I've found a bunch of variants of Mrs. Lovett's meat pies. If anyone wants to give it a go minus the "Soylent Green is people" approach, try these at home!
* Feast of Starlight's version
* Fictitiously Delicious looks a bit closer to the ingredients she'd have had on hand
* All Roads Lead to the Kitchen strongly resembles the Burton film's variant, if a good deal brighter
* Before We Go Blog has an actual vintage recipe from 1861 -- how 'bout that!
* Diana Lee's Creative Creation comes with a faux finger or two
* Pitt Rep students did a promotional tie-in for their production, complete with a video tutorial
* Even Binging with Babish got in on the act
It's all worth trying, and all more entertaining than bickering!

Question for those who've seen the show from the mezz...
Is the final moment spoiled by sitting in the mezzanine? Or does the 'effect' only work on the orchestra level?

I saw it very clearly from the mezz. Rear mezz center row J if it matters.
As someone who loves to bake, thanks for that compiles list, g.d.e.l.g.i.!
It would be cute if the production sold a little pie jar like they did with Waitress.

I think what they are asking is
can you see the trap door open toward the back of the stage before Sweeney and Lovett drop down.

Yep, that's the question I was answering.

Is the general consensus that seats in the front mezz is the way to go? I'm debating between side orchestra seats row G or in the centre of trow E in front mezz. Both seats are around the same price.
SO excited to see this! I'm planning a trip in July from Canada just to see this show. Just booked my hotel and flights, next up is the tickets! Sad that Gaten will most likely be leaving in June, but I'm still excited nonetheless!

Stranger Things takes months to film and has a gigantic cast, so there's no guarantee Gaten will be needed right away in June. There is a possibility you might see him in July.
I saw the show last week from extreme side rear orchestra (last seat of Row X house right). It was honestly a great view. I didn't notice any obstruction, and I felt closer to the stage than I was. The only thing I recall being even slightly obstructed was the top of Joanna's head during the asylum scenes, but that was insignificant to me overall. I believe the seats back there run 150-170. Still expensive, but a great value compared to the highway robbery of some of the other seats.

I saw the door open and figured that was how they were ending it but gasped a bit at how they fell into it. I was sitting in Row E of the Mezz. I am sure it was more of a surprise viewing it from downstairs but it still looked really cool from the Mezz.

Yesterday, a friend asked me to pick out and buy a seat for her, with a maximum price of $199 plus fees. Based on having seen the show already, I avoided the orchestra completely, and got her front mezzanine E 2. If I saw the show again, it's where I would want to sit. You can see in the pic below that, although the proscenium arches are straight, the back wall and the spotlights, and also the set pieces when they're brought out, are angled toward house right, making that right mezzanine aisle seat actually dead center for the production.
Side note: I noticed that they've released row B center and side orchestra for all dates, and they're priced at mid-premium. I guess they've concluded that, even though the stage is really high, and being that close makes it difficult to see some of what's happening on the upper platform, they can get away with not calling them partial view because of the proximity to the actors. A little shady, but not unexpected.

I sat in row B on the aisle over the weekend. The stage was noticeably high from my seat but not too uncomfortable. I bought two separate seats for the Sunday performance (last minute availability) and switched with my husband who had row G center at intermission: obviously, a much better seat.
When I bought the tickets at the box office a couple of days ago, they were both listed as premium seats but the box office attendant was nice enough to sell them both at the non-premium price. I realize now that this was a great deal for the row G ticket, not so much for the row B ticket.

I sat in E2 in the Mezz when I saw it. Great view. I did have to shift a bit in my seat to see around the person in front of me for a bit but just ended up leaning my head on the rail at times. I looked at every Mezz seat on "A View From My Seat" to pick that seat. I was worried about the rail in the front of the Mezz possibly obstructing the front of the stage.

I'm looking at tickets in the mezz, but I'm nervous about the sound quality. How did it sound up there?? Has it gotten better lately?
Apologies if I've missed this –– how are the first few rows? Looking at some seats in Row B in the center because they're the cheapest of the expensive seats...I gather there's a PARADE-like platform.

This is the sort of post I’m happy to see. A positive comment about a seat from the much-derided rear orchestra. Next week, I’m house right, a couple of seats in from the far edge, Row O, after switching from the front row of rear orchestra due to concerns about the various railings (which may have been overstated). So I will be closer to the stage than you were, for better or worse.
Who knows? The critiques on this thread make me feel that I’ll be somewhat fortunate to hear the orchestra or understand some of the performers when I’m not missing the factory whistle or kicking myself for seeing this show in previews. (I didn’t really have a choice. Next week was the only week I could go to New York City.)
