I really hope they were courting McCormick for Nathan and not Sky. He just plays everything with a certain layer of smarm (yes, and I'm going off more than Will and Grace)... Sky is cool and slick but not smarmy. Messing would be a fabulous Adelaide but she seems to be trying to have a thriving television career. She's probabaly looking for a bigger role than Sarah Brown but I wonder if Anika Noni Rose is a possible cotender for it.

I'd just like to see a complete departure from previous versions.
I want a gritty, dirty NY, I want some sad Hot Box girls. I want fraying salvation army uniforms I want something that I will notice, not something I've seen before.
Otherwise, what's the point.

The more I think about this, Orfeh really would be a great Adelaide. I can just totally see her in this role.
I think McCormack and Butz would be great. Anoka Noni Rose is pursuing a TV/film career, isn't she? (already has done "Dreamgirls") I think Sarah Uriarte Berry would be good as Sarah.

"Life is a cabaret old chum, only a cabaret old chum, and I love a cabaret!"-RIP Natasha Richardson-I was honored to have witnessed her performance as Sally Bowles.
Christine Ebersole is way too old for Miss Adelaide, particularly for this production that is way sexier and edgier than others. There is stripping involved. I hadn't thought of Anika Noni Rose as Adelaide, I think she reads too young. I'd prefer her for Sarah Brown but don't think she has the upper register for the role. Sarah Uriarte Berry is actually a great choice.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
I know that-I just said she played the role awhile back. I said Orfeh would be my pick for this production.

Cyndi Lauper would be great as Adaeline. She may be a little old for the part but then again isn't Megan Mullaley too old for the Madeline Kahn part in Young Frankenstein? If she were still alive she could play either part as well in both musicals. Updated On: 7/26/07 at 11:32 AM
bwaylvsong, i guess i agree the point about Rachel. I mean frankly she already played the "role" when she did Victor/Victoria. I just think she would be stunning in everything!

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
