During the panel, NBC also unveiled a first look video featuring the cast in costume, and Meron confirmed that two new songs from the 2007 movie (a la Ladies’ Choice) would be included in the live show. “Harvey worked out really great places” in the script to include them, he mentioned.
This makes it sound like they'll be worked in, but not in place of It Takes Two and Cooties, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

Adding new songs to productions are pointless. And changing up the original script is always pointless. They said that harvey found a way to fit in ladies choice and new girl in town in the script so here's hoping that the songs from the broadway show that were cut in the movie are in this production. I heard that ariana wanted penny to be written the same way as she was in the broadway show.

I think ladies choice will take place during the Madison and I think the new girl in town will be after it takes two I just hope they kept the big dollhouse and I can't wait to find out the rest of the cast

All of this is subject to change, but as of three weeks ago, Ladies Choice and Come So Far (But Got So Far To Go) were the new songs incorporated from the movie. The New Girl In Town wasn't in. The New Girl in Town wasn't a new song for the movie. It was a song written but not used for the stage musical. Ladies Choice and Come So Far were written specifically for the movie. It is still based on the stage show. The only things from the movie are Ladies Choice and Come So Far. It Takes Two and Cooties were still in. :)

With the recent announcement of Rosie O'Donnell playing the Gym Teacher (a role featured in the Broadway show, but was absent from the film), I don't think it will be live version of the film.

Because they're well informed and may know someone working in the production. Why does everything have to be vetted for you? No one here owes you anything.

Interesting. Yet if I posted something of similar insider information, or mostly anyone else for that matter, you'd question it left and right. You'd complain that we're sharing it. You'd demand vetting and verification!!! What a hypocritical fool. Get outta here, punta.
I'm hoping to see one of the three original Tracy's make a cameo somewhere

Would LOVE that. Ricki, Marissa and Nikki. Would also love to see Shannon Durig somehow. She was my favorite and had the most performances as Tracy.
Where the heck would "Come So Far" fit into the plot? It's sort of a button to the whole thing- I don't even think it was ever written to be anything else but an end-credits song. I would have rather they put in "I Can Wait."
My guess would be that they could sing it as they take their bows if they're doing that. Maybe after the bows to bring the show outside for a final encore.

They haven't done curtain calls in the last three broadcasts. Are you suggesting they would change it and now frame it as more of a "finale," like GREASE did with its broadcast?
Well they're pretty much doing everything FOX did with Grease. Outdoor filming, live audience, hiring the live television director...

Ricki Lake could play Prudy or The Matron (if The Big Dollhouse is included).

My avatar is of Tyler Lepley.
Here's more:
Ricki Lake could certainly pass for Ariana's mother. In fact, her actual mother and Ricki look very similar.
Ooo I could see Marissa as Prudy too!

Did you ever find out why you're so rude for literally no reason?
Okay, I love gypsy101 for asking this. He is genuinely a miserable fuck.
Love the casting of Dove Cameron as "Amber". Not a big fan of Rosie O'Donnell and Sean Hayes as "Mr. Pinky"? Oh well - - - those parts aren't that big anyway so I can deal with that.
I am hoping Jordan Fisher gets "Seaweed".

Thank you for that, Carlos.
NBC is pulling out all stops for this, appealing to such a wide audience. Jordan Fisher would be terrific. He was wonderful in Grease Live

For the same reason you didn't realize there are textbooks about the history of [musical] theatre...
