Outside of Broadway actors and unknowns, there aren't a whole lot of options for Seaweed. Unfortunately the entertainment industry doesn't provide much space for singing AA young males anymore, let alone triple-threats of any stripe, so the picking are slim. Here are the options I can think of and their potential obstacles:
Jordan Fisher (possibly on tour for new album)
Elijah Kelly (doing Chorus Line/Hollywood Bowl)
Corbin Bleu (doing Holiday Inn/Broadway)
Todrick Hall (still on SOZ tour)
Jacob Lattimore (busy?)
Quincy [Combs] (filming Empire spin-off?)
Joey Diggs, Jr. (can sing and dance, but can he act?)
Tahj Mowry (too short? filming sitcom?)
Roshon Fegan
Trevor Jackson
Tequan Richmond (soap commitment?)
Usher (old, but maybe looks young enough)
Dana Vaughns
Based on co-director Kenny Leon's twitter feed, the production is still doing callbacks. These could be totally unrelated to casting Seaweed, but Kenny has recently "seen" the following:
Jacob Perez aka Princeton (his R&B group just released a long-awaited album, so promotional commitments? and can he act? or sing lead live?)
Rhett George (too old?)
As for little Inez, some options are Quvenzhane Wallis, Rachel Crow, one of the McClain sisters, or even Shanice Williams again.

As of three weeks ago, Come So Far is sung by the cast during the end credits. Sort of like Grease. So the only "new" song in the actual story is Ladies Choice, and I believe it occurs when Corny Collins is scouting for someone to replace Brenda. Just like in the movie.
Again, all of this is subject to change. It's still a long time before December 7th.

You're welcome gypsy.
As to why he is so salty, I'm going to guess he really needs to get laid!

Who's going to take that bullet for the sake of the board?

Is it added at the expense of "It Takes Two"?
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
^Unless something has changed, Ladies Choice would replace the Madison which happened prior to Tracy getting on the show, and then It Takes Two happens on Tracy's first day on the show.
"Anybody that goes to the theater, I think we’re all misfits, so we ended up on stage or in the audience.” --- Patti LuPone.

I believe Ladies Choice (oh and it's performed by Corny, but who knows? It might change too) takes the place of The Madison, then the next scene is The Nicest Kids in Town Reprise, and then Link sings It Takes Two.

I like that they are doing the Broadway version of hairspray and the addition of ladies choice is great and sung by corny even better. I hope they keep the big dollhouse one of my fave songs
Homedecor22: "I think seaweed is either Tyler James Williams or bryshere y gray from empire both can act, sing and dancd"
AFAIK Bryshere will be filming Empire during the time of Hairspray rehearsals. Plus I imagine Fox would rather he not (if they'd even allow him to) participate in an NBC live musical when Fox has its own musical slate. Though come to think of it, Jussie would've been a great choice as he can sing and dance; Bryshere is more a rapper.
I thought Todrick Hall would have been great. He said in his Instagram story the other day that he found out he didn't get Seaweed. Wonder who it was down to.

Thank god for small favors. I already have to suffer through him for 8 weeks on Drag Race All Stars, I don't want that **** stuck to Hairspray forever...

Seriously? I immediately tuned him out after American Idol. Less excited for Drag Race.
