I think Edna's dress is fun in a tacky, kitschy way- though if that's the "Welcome to the 60s" dress, it's ridiculously on-the-nose. Tracy's dress, though, I really don't care for.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
As a Baltimorean, I don't necessarily see the problem yet with those outfits. Baltimore "Hon" fashion is SUPPOSED to be as tacky and kitschy as possible. As said, especially if that's the outfit from Welcome to the 60's, it looks fine to me.
These are just promo photos and most definitely will change once things get in motion production wise.
As we saw in the past with the early promo photos, lots of things were modified (wig design, costumes, etc) for the actual "live" broadcast. Also, Edna's go-go boots are a major faux pas as the musical takes place in 1962. The mod fashion movement (which is when the go-go boots first appeared) took place around 1965.
Harvey said in a interview that's on YouTube that his breasts for Edna are 52 triple E. I might be in the minority but I like the costumes it's inspired by the Broadway show and way better then the movie ones. The wig Harvey got on reminds me of his finale wig.
If the title of the article didn't say otherwise, I'd think this was just an editorial shoot for People with Harvey and Maddie dressed as such. I'm hoping there will be some adjustments...
Craig Zadan just posted this pic of him and Harvey on twitter. I will say the dress is growing on me a bit. I actually quite like it. I guess it was the weird lighting and scene design of the photo (and those awful boots) that threw me off.
Im willing to bet these are just early "we need to get a press photo" out there sort of costume. I remember there were costumes in "The Wiz" promos that never appeared on TV.

Are you saying there's still hope for Rocky Horror?
Clarification - I want tight golden underwear. Not baggy gym shorts. Leave nothing to imagination was the entire point of Rocky for me.
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.

Sadly, FOX TV's adaptation of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW isn't "live" - it was already filmed and in post-production. All the press promo and production photos are accurate: Staz Nair wears long gold basketball shorts in this.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Nice! This is looking better and better! My Bawlmer pride was already swelling at finding out this was the big TV musical of the year, but with almost every casting decision I hear it's sounding better and better. I'm so excited!
