Babes, this is America.  We’re not shutting anyone down for saying anything, nor should we.  What we learned eventually with the Westboro Baptist Church… when you ignore them, they disappear…. And when you give them attention, it makes them feel more emboldened.  Let them say what they want and roll your eyes and ignore them.  They’re a dying breed.

Oh, I did understand.  Bringing evangelical Christian’s negative limelight makes them more powerful.  Let them do their sh***y illegal Hamilton (plenty of others already have) and ignore them.  That’s what will make them go away.  It’s Lin’s problem and prerogative (and only his and Hamilton’s producers) if he wants it shut down

Let's not jump to conclusions. After all, I'm sure the Church's scriptures that it adheres to includes something like "Do Not Steal".  Maybe, they got a special license?  [Yeah, I doubt it - in which case, I'm sure it will get taken down off YouTube within a day - cue Church outrage]

 

on edit: skipped around and this looks like a group of high school aged youths - and I don't recall Alexander Hamilton praising Jesus at the end of the show as in this version.

not to steal the thread too, but did anybody else read the title as implyig that this church had travelled from Texas to "steal the show" by preaching anti lgbt sermons? If this or any church decides to do that... well I may just endorse recording at a Broadway show!

Looks like the video has been taken down now. But, having watched some of it, I will say there are more crimes on that stage besides copyright infringement, if you know what I mean. Painful.

You mean they *infringed* the copyright. Unless they loaded the physical production out of the Richard Rodgers, they didn't *steal* anything.

Actually, you can steal intellectual property so yes they did. One of the reasons people think they would  never "steal" but think nothing of stealing copyrights, patents, trademarks, is because they don't think it is the same. But it is. (It also takes a lot less energy than stealing the physical production. Especially in this heat.)

I do not know if the performance still is happening, but on Evetbrite it says "This event is no longer available online." But I do not know if that means only no additional people can sign on or whether those who already registered will be able to stream it.

Although I really don't understand this thread, I have total faith that homosexuals will eventually be rounded up and put into camps or killed in this country.  Until then, I am on the loose and will attempt to enjoy my freedom - happily blocking every threatening and hateful pronouncement from my psyche.  Therefore, I will not click on this link but trust that it is as you say.  Good day.

I think that's a fair assumption, the beginning of the thread is especially confusing. But I do love it when the Almighty Mods delete a post, but leave it in subsequent posts when it's been quoted -- kinda defeats the purpose, mods!
