Too young-Hedwig is supposed to be about 40-45. (And a 40-45 that is very worn down by life and a general worldliness about them.)

Matthew Broderick would be amazing.
No. He'd be amazing. He was born to play that part.
Too young and they both have television shows.
Very funny. I am not convinced he can handle this. (The role is hard to fill-you really need someone who's got a rock sound and can sing and perform the role 7 times a week.)

Matthew Broderick??????? That was funny. He can barely walk- Yeah I can just see him jumping, climbing and running around the stage.
Matthew Broderick as Hedwig would be a revelation.
He is already doing a play with Nathan all fall, though. I know you're dream casting, but his dance card is full through January.
That is very sad. Watching his extraordinary stage work, I've always thought he was born to play Hedwig.
And Barbara Cook as Yitzhak would be a revelation.
Would love to see jcm!!! Well, I'm pretty sure they must have a replacement in mind--- unless it's someone that's played the role before, the rehearsal timeframe (for someone not that familiar with the script or score) would be a few months -
Jordan thanks for giving me the only LOL today!

"Matthew Broderick as Hedwig would be a revelation."
He could do it in a wheelchair. It would be smoother and faster than watching him dance.
Also was at the show Sunday, Barbara Cook was there. So I had to chuckle at that comment

They might want to give some consideration to Tony-winner Wilson Jermaine Heredia.
WJH won't sell peanuts having to fill NPH's shoes. The property itself is strong, but not enough to a point where a non-star could sell out the house. (Although he could fill the role as an alternate should the next person want one.

One N'Sync member could keep premium tickets up at the $399 level, but not these two.
Alec Baldwin could make it up to the LGBT community by doing this show.
To everyone suggesting Jinkx, that's a no go, as the Vaudevillians are scheduled to do a nearly two month run in the fall at the Seattle Rep as part of their season. (Of note also at the Seattle Rep, they will be doing "All The Way" and it's sequel "The Great Society" this fall/winter with them doing both shows in rep on certain weekends)
I do wonder if they could ever get John, Miriam and Stephen to do it again once this cast leaves.

I still like the idea of Pink replacing NPH.

Have they fudged the timeline for the revival? If Hedwig's life has happened in real time, she's in her 50s.
