We knew that would happen. That's capitalism for ya.
I wonder if he will extend at all?
Mezz left for August only --- at least that's what was said at the box office today-- partial view orch pretty good--- believe they are $144-$155
I cant see him extending. The rags have been saying his marriage has been strained and he referenced that today about wanting to get back to his family. He's collected all the awards. I hope they re-cast and Lena extends.
I bought a $155 two weeks ago for Row C in the orchestra, on the side, for Neil's "last?" show in August. I mean, he keeps giving every indication he's not extending, so not sure why people are waiting to book this.
Not that it makes that much of a difference, but the premium seats are "only" $350 on weekdays. The $399 price is only for the weekends.
I was waiting for a possible extension by NPH, but I'm guessing that Bettyboy is right and NPH won't extend.
Maybe they think he'll pull a Cher and come back. LOL. Seriously though, it really looks like he won't be extended and you can see the toll the show is taking on him already.
"you can see the toll the show is taking on him already."
Well, he intentionally lost weight for the role to have a more feminine silhouette, so that isn't the impact of the show, but something planned for the show.

Neil is good at keeping the production's secrets.
"you can see the toll the show is taking on him already"
You're seeing what you want to see, gurl.
I believe he said that he lost weight for the role, but i also seem to remember him saying he lost some during the show's run too. when i say toll- i mean the effects on his marriage, his family, schedule and also his physical appearance.

Yes you can definitely see the effects on his relationship just by looking at him.
(See what you wanna see)
"i mean the effects on his marriage, his family, schedule and also his physical appearance."
Three of those things aren't my business. But I do hope he's keeping physically healthy during all of this.
You could clearly see it on his face that he really wants to spend more time with his family when he talked About it in his speech. He himself said that he was sorry that he hadn't been able to see them as much as he wanted to.

I feel like they'll recast and keep the show going. I can't imagine them giving up the opportunity to get more money even after NPH leaves.

It will be hard to cast because of the terrible toll. The role made NPH lose weight and it killed Ally Sheedy.
I did a search and it seems like there was ONE non premium seat left! Glad I snatched up the seat when I did! (Just before the Tonys began to air!
I, too, am one of those people that don't live in the city, so pre-planning is necessary == and the few other dates I tried to go, were already sold out.
^ Same. I'm in the Midwest and only had one week i could get into the city- so i lucked out.
Really happy I grabbed some balcony seats for under $100 each last week! Hopefully the view from up there is decent.

It didn't kill her. That's just what they want you to think. It made her go crazy.

This thread is incorrect. They have only been increased to $399 NOT $400.
I see quite a few sets of tickets on ebay for under that. Most of them are buy it now and somewhat high. I saw one auction...2 seats in Mezz for $300.
Two weeks ago I got 2 seats in the Mezz for $200, can't complain about that. I knew getting tickets in advance was really my only hope of catching the show.
In his post-win interview, NPH said he think the revival win will help whoever takes over for him, so although that doesn't rule out an extension, it certainly makes it seem like he's not going to be in it for too much longer than his announced run:

"it killed Ally Sheedy."
It's the other way around!

I felt like I was jumping the gun a little by locking down seats. Now I'm very relieved I did the same as you by buying two mezz tix for our August visit. I'd be real bummed to have missed this.
