She has the right range, but I REALLY can't see her as Glinda. That'd be like Lady Gaga as Glinda. (Bjork actually reminds me a lot of Lady Gaga and I consider her the Lady Gaga of Scandinavia).
There's never been an Elphie named Lucy. There have, however, been two Glindas named Lucy. Lucy Scherer of the Stuttgart production, and Lucy Durack of the Melbourne and Sydney productions.
Okay, you do realize that it's VERY hard to find understudy information. Standbys and leads are really easy to find, but there's nowhere online that keeps records of understudies, and understudies in Wicked change much more frequently than standbys and leads. So although I have never heard of a Lucy as Elphaba, it is possible that one exists that is/was an understudy, and I've just never heard of her because understudy information (especially for the touring productions and London) is REALLY difficult to find. Um, I'm seen it 12 times. *hides* In my defense, I'm sick to death of it now. One of the tours just came pretty close to me and I didn't bother seeing it.
Elphaba3, do you ever listen to the cast recording?
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
mmm. I just find it interesting. Like, why did you see if for the 12th time? Or was that when it hit you that you were 'over it'.
A girl in Australia has seen the Melbourne production 40 times. God. I wonder what she thinks of the show now.

I've seen the London production 22 times, last being 1st December 2008 however! I HATE the OBCR, nothing against the cast, I just dont think the orchestrations and mix on there gives a true representation of the show!
I saw it for the 12th time because I'd heard great things about Nicole Parker as Elphaba and I wanted to see her for myself. She was very good and it was one of the better casts I've seen, but the magic isn't there anymore for me. It's not a good sign when I'm analying the performances during the show instead of going on the journey. I honestly probably would have gone to #13 last weekend if I weren't recovering from surgery because I do like seeing different people in the roles and it was near me, but it wasn't worth it.
I've seen it 3 times. I saw the national tour back in 2006 and I recently saw the tour twice in July (I went with a friend for her birthday and once with my other friend). I loved the show the first time I saw it, but the second two times I realized that it really isn't that great (in my opinion anyways)
Once on tour and once in London. That was enough for me.
"You drank a charm to kill John Proctor's wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor!" - Betty Parris to Abigail Williams in Arthur Miller's The Crucible
Just once. I would like to see it again though from a better seat because I was in the front row partial view, which was a little too close to see some things.
