Piper, yeah, when I'm at work I just ctrl-alt-print screen and then copy it to Paint and upload it to Flickr. At home I do the same except I have Photoshop at home instead of Paint.
Hunter tried to clarify, but it's too late: the Wall of that page has become a sad parade of malcontents airing grievances against an unfair world.
I still can't figure out what's so terrible about a Broadway-loving football player appearing to encourage sports fans to attend Broadway, but they seem to hate Mark Sanchez even more than they hate Zeta Jones.

Hunter Foster You know, I think there is a little confusion about what this sight is about. It's not about keeping Hollywood actors from doing Broadway--Denzel was fantastic in Fences--Im not against great performances like that, it's about making the Tony night be about honoring Broadway. When I watched them in college, it was Mandy, George Hearn, Lupone, Reinking and Tommy Tune. What does Mark Sanchez have to do with Broadway? Thats it. Make it about Broadway. That's all we ask. I guarantee ratings won't be worse!
I love the Easter Bonnet/Tony connection. If Tonys were denied for questionable behavior outside a performance, I think maybe ten people would have one. If Jen thinks it is somehow relevant, perhaps we now know why she and Hunter don't have Tony awards. I guess the voters didn't attend Easter Bonnet so they could assess a completely unrelated performance.

Yeah, I also can't understand why Mark Sanchez has become a target for some people. He's a star football player that seems to have a genuine love of theater. I would think that the theater community would have responded warmly to him.

best12bars did say what Hunter had meant, and maybe his post is what he meant PalJoey, but I agree, when it comes out the way it did and many many people took it as a slight on hollywood, sports, pop music and when you read the responses... i mean, he could have corrected some of them, no?
Also, I'm not all that savvy with screencapping on a PC (not without photoshop's help, anyway), but on a Mac, all you need to do is command+shift+4, capture that, and upload to TinyPic. Unlike on a PC, it creates a file rather than just copying the screencap onto the clipboard.

I'd like to start a "Let's blame Hunter Foster if the Tonys get pulled" page on Facebook. Someone needs to take a look at the lounge act that's currently masquerading as a Broadway show, that he's performing in. I thought it was kind of neat that Mark Sanchez presented the Memphis number.

Really?!?! All this furor over a ten-second intro? I thought it was kind of different and cool and it wasn't a running theme that dominated the broadcast. I guess some people simply cannot grasp the idea of good intentions. That intro made up about one-tenth of one percent of the broadcast. If you add Mark Sanchez and Paula Abdul, you have about one minute out of 180 where the person was not directly linked to Broadway. Add the Green Day performance and it is around 4% of the entire show. Forget about class, whatever happened to perspective?

If actors from the film medium come to Broadway and are good enough to be nominated for a Tony, I believe they should be able to win. Lots of film actors got their start on the stage...Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, Robin Williams, Catherine Zeta Jones, Denzel Washington, and many more. Are you saying that you would block stage actors from winning Oscars or Emmys? This whole thread is ridiculous...just my opinion....
I'm kind of surprised no one else caught this but "sight"??? I believe he means "site" lol. I guess even Tony rebels get tripped up on synonyms....multiple times haha.

Wait, who "bought" the Tony for CZJ? The producers who were planning to close the show in the red at the end of the month? As ljay's extensive and neurotic records showed, CZJ went into the Tonys nearly matched for wins with Montego Glover. Are they suggesting all the other theatre awards shows for the season were biased towards Hollywood as well?
I had respect for Chris Sieber before that comment. Now I'm left wondering how a star of Spamalot and Shrek can join a group about "taking back" Broadway from mainstream pop culture with no sense of his own hypocrisy.

I was very pleased to see Sanchez there. One would think that football players don't do theatre. And he even mentioned getting some heat from his teammates which, to me, said "Who cares. I love theatre". I am sure it isn't going to make every high school or college football player want to see a show but at least he "bucked the stereotype", so to speak.

I was thinking that somehow the implication was the her husband bought it. Not that that makes any more sense.

All this "take the Tonys back" makes me think of the tea party crowing about taking the country back. Who took it away? Where is it now?
This from a guy in Million Dollar Quartet? I agree with skittles on Sieber too (and I love him as a performer).
I was a bit dumbfounded by Mark Sanchez's appearance too (only because it really had nothing to do with Memphis, I do think it is nice that he is an admitted fan of Broadway though) but you know what, it was just 30 seconds in an intro. I got no problem possibly moving it to another location and maybe a network that would promote the hell out of it, but the monster of commercialism left the cage for Broadway years ago.

You left off 'Supporting Star to the Olsen Twins on TWO OF A KIND'!!!
I love how the girl from the UK who commented seems to get the entire situation better than the people that actually watch the Tonys...
And did anyone else notice the comment complaining about British people winning Tonys? I quote, "Now, I am not anti-British - thrilled that we get to see these wonderful shows - but let's give OUR awards to OUR actors and OUR Directors!"
