I'm watching last nights episode and I think it's official that I hate this show. I used to enjoy it, I used to laugh but (if it's possible) it's gotten even more absurd. Finn is a "shoe-in" for homecoming king? Really? Because when I was in school the guy who people tormented and threw slushies at wasn't really homecoming king material. And I'm so sorry to GLAAD and all the other gay groups but I DESPISE Kurt. I wish his father would ship him to a Swiss boarding school. His teary eyed tribute to a dead bird was beyond laughable. It's beyond obvious they're not even trying anymore with this show.
I deleted it from my DVR list.
I feel the exact same way about this show. I deleted it from my DVR list a long time ago though haha. I agree though, Kurt's character is the most annoying character I have ever seen on a TV show. I've hated this show for a long time. I tried to like it, but I just couldn't.

Ryan Murphy isn't even trying anymore to make the plot coherent. Season 3 will stink and that will be the end of the show.

One of my biggest complaints about the show after the initial 13 episodes is its incosistency. The "theme" episodes have all sucked and a great episode would be followed by an embarassing one. Although I really enjoyed Gwyneth Paltrow's first appearance, most of this season sits unwatched on my DVR because the pieces I've seen of them (especially the alcohol episode) have pissed me off so much I'm taking my sweet time to get to the full episodes.
I don't mind Kurt that much...he's responsible for the best musical moment of tis season ("I Want To Hold Your Hand").

Honestly, I only think Finn's a "shoe-in" in Quinn's mind.
It's sad there has been a decline in the writing caliber.
I still enjoy the show just not nearly as much as I used to.
I like that they are finally developing Santana's character. And Lea Michele is really just too talented for the show.
I still love the show but I have to say that ironically it is NOT Kurt that annoys me but Blaine. I think he is hot and all but Kurt needs to come back to his old school. AND i think they need to do a beauty and the beast style storyline with Kurt and his Bully....
It has stretched out too far... I mean they have to graduate sooner or later but they don't need to be throwing people all over the show and seeing what sticks.

Even if he came out and apologized what sort of message would it send if Kurt was in a relationship with the person who threatened to kill him? Karofsky still seems to have violent tendancies no matter what he's hiding.
My problem with Kurt is that the character is not being written for a gay high school kid. It's written for a 12 year old beauty queen and is just being played by a boy. I find him insulting 90% of the time.
And seriously, last week did they expect us or ANYONE to believe that a high schooler knows nothing about sex? He needed pamphlets from his dad because he'd never even thought about sex before!
Well, speaking from experience... It is possible to be in a relationship with someone who is abusive toward you while in the closet - even if they stay there and you don't. If they do indeed do a Kurt/Karofsky pairing I think that would be FAR more interesting and emotionally/morally complex enough to fuel a really good storyline. Just thinking of watching Kurt and Karofsky stumble through a very realistic and non-idealized situation is exciting and would definitely get me watching the show again. A much more interesting relationship than a Blaine/Kurt pairing.
Oh, and if Glee does move in this direction, I am totally saying they ripped off my life. :P
Eris... so you think that a teenage who has his own demons and cannot express himself fully and does not understand what is going on and the stress and life he is in is not able to be reformed? Bully is horrid now in the day and age but alot of it, i truly believe is caused by society and situation -- not because they just want to be a bully.
I really believe they could redeam Karovsky... Why not have Kurt perhaps bullied or attacked (not that i am promiting this just a tv show idea) and have Karovsky come to his rescue and stop it. The whole.. Who could ever love a beast story line would work very well within Glee. Look at BATB the story... He was a bully and he found redemption. Why cant you do that with Glee? Is it acceptable for a cartoon story to have it but not real life?

All I have to say is that THANK GOD Aaron Tveit passed on the role of Finn when Ryan Murphy asked him to do it. He deserves so much better than to be in this piece of crap
While we are on the subject of how awful this show is, can BWW stop shoving it down our throats? Seriously though, GLEE-caps, GLEE-peats, etc.
^ I agree!
JRybka, you're saying things I never said or even thought of.
I never said that he is not able to be reformed. But I don't see it happening in the course of a season (or half a season). Karovsky can't just turn around and be okay that quickly. He needs time which I don't believe he has. He's what a junior? A senior? These things don't simply happen overnight - even on a show where we suspend our belief every week.
And I just cannot see Kurt in a relationship with someone who scared him so much - no matter what the reasons.
I catch the show when I am home and it is on. I still don't totally know why Kurt changed schools. But it seems that all of a sudden he isn't as "talented" as he was at his high school. I watch him while the Warblers are doing their numbers and he appears to have no rythm half the time and he looks lost. Not like he was at the high school. And what was up with Sue punching the lady who made the announcement last night? She didn't vote she only made the announcement. And the whole song for the dead bird in the Crow/Scissorhands looking outfit was..well it just was. Kurt is just a bit too "stereotypical" and over the top. I just wish they would either ramp him back a bit or introduce another gay character that isn't so flamboyant so those young gay kids not like Kurt may have someone on the show to identify with. Just my random thoughts.
I'm sure Tveit is kicking himself for turning down (if that's how it really happened) one of the most popular shows on TV and a cultural phenom.
No I don't think so. Aaron Tveit made a wise decision to not be in this piece of crap show! Cause if he did Glee then that is all his career will be remembered for. Besides, I have heard very good things about him in CMIYC. I am SO HAPPY that he chose to not star as a dumb football player (Finn Hudson) on a TV Show that is pure garbage now.
Also, Ryan Murphy is working on a new TV series for FX so one can only assume that he is paying far less attention to Glee now as well.
Eris... Your post is as follows:
Even if he came out and apologized what sort of message would it send if Kurt was in a relationship with the person who threatened to kill him? Karofsky still seems to have violent tendancies no matter what he's hiding.
Your comments make is sound as though he is unable to have any reformation. Read your own words.
I am not trying to start a fight or anythig. I think good television should be full of conflict.
Why can't Karovsky begin to turn around. He even in a private moment came thru in many ways with the dance number (Thriller) -- I think it would be a great story line. They are sophmores and juniors why not allow him to come thru and maybe by senior year ask him to prom or something.....

According to Jane Lynch, Elton John wants to come on the show and get it on with Kurt. (2:45)

I'm not sure what show everyone else was watching last year...but Glee has kind of always been exactly the show you're saying it is right now. Are you really trying to claim that season one was of higher quality writing than what is happening right now? And...did it really take you until right now to decide you hate the show? That's actually ridiculous.
It's taken you this long to realize? Every time you think that show can't get more insipid, it does. Of course, I feel like a loon given that I still can't stop watching it, but only for the pleasure of mockery at this point.
I don't think Aaron Tveit was offered the role. Ryan Murphy had mentioned something about how he wasn't believable (looks-wise) as a normal H.S. jock from Ohio. He wanted someone that had the Midwestern look.
Glee's writing has always not been stellar and definitely not award-worthy (like Modern Family is even thought that show lost to Glee) but I think what it always had going for it was the catchy pop tunes (even though after a while they all kind of sound the same). I despised and only half-watched the first 12 episodes of the first season, but started to get into it during the back 9 episodes of Season 1. I felt that although their storylines were all been-there-done-that, the songs they chose in the latter half of the season really incorporated with the story in each episode very well. Plus, Jonathan Groff singing with Lea Michele had me hooked. I was rooting for them the whole time he was on air.
But this season, I feel like the show has just gotten so big that they are taking advantage of it. All they do is throw big name guest stars and pop artists at our faces (Britney Spears' HORRIFIC tribute episode for example) and the writing is just even worst than it was before.

The Kurt character has become too melodramatic. His character is now in the mold of "Little House on the Prairie". Remember on that show somebody was crying on every single episode. Half Pint would screw up her face and cry "Oh Pa!" and then the next week Mary would screw up her face and cry "Oh Pa!".
Let's start a Facebook page, no more crying for Kurt on Glee!
