They changed their schedule for that week. They added a Friday matinee and cancelled the Monday evening performance."
Thank you. I see that my ticket no longer appears in my SG account, but still no follow-up email. I hope I can just exchange it for a different performance."
If it no longer appears in your account, it means that you've been refunded, and will need to repurchase.

Thanks, Taffy. I purchased the original ticket with the discount code Spring2024 that you recently shared. I used the code AprilFools2024 that you recently shared for Sunset Blvd. I couldn't use any code for the repurchase of Illinoise, but I called customer service and they gave me a one-time code for $20 off. After I purchased the new ticket, I got an email saying that my money for the original ticket to Ilinoise was refunded. It all worked out, but the messages were a bit confusing. I know better now :).
Does anyone know if the officially opening would be the matinee or the evening performance? Very rarely have I ever bought tickets to an opening night show and this musical is very special to me and due to it being affordable and available I wanted to watch it on its official opening performance… but which is it? Matinee or evening?
"The new Broadway musical will performances begin Wednesday, April 24 at 2PM at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street), which will also act as the engagement’s opening performance."
"The musical, with direction and choreography from Justin Peck and a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Jackie Sibblies Drury, begins performances with a matinee at the St. James on Wednesday, April 24, which will serve as the engagement’s Tony-qualifying opening performance. Broadway reviews will be embargoed to Friday, April 26, a day after the April 25 Tony cut-off."
Yup, snagged my tix... Not because I care about being there for opening but simply because being in the city that day presented itself with an out of town friend .
Very excited.

Yesenia Ayala posted on her Instagram that rehearsals started yesterday. There will be changes to the show as they are beefing up production values and added two more dancers.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I'm guessing they're rushing this to Broadway without previews because if it gets great reviews, it has a really good chance to win Best Musical. Its only competition will probably be The Outsiders. Very bad year for new musicals.

Was surprised to see last night that, while the light-up sign above the theatre now says Illinoise, the digital marquee is turned off and all of the physical stuff still says Spamalot. I understand that this is all being done very last-minute and the strategy is essentially "get ourselves open before the 25th and then figure everything else out." But, it's surprising to me that they weren't on it immediately to start switching stuff over.

Interesting thing I noticed when looking through the show's website. Their performance schedule listed on their website has a Wednesday matinee at 1pm each week. However, Seat Geek doesn't have those Wednesday matinees available for purchase. I wonder if these were just added or if it's an error by the website creator?

Odd, I just looked, mostly because I have tickets for the opening matinee, purchased a few weeks ago.
I see all Weds matinees at 2.
EDIT: I see what you mean. If you click on a 1pm perf on their website, its a dead end. But if you go directly to Seat Geek via the link, they are all there at two.
Obviously, someone messed up...somewhere! I guess I'm stopping at the box office when I get in on Weds!

They just announced in person rush will be $45. They'll also have an online lottery through Lucky Seat.

FWIW... I won on Lucky Seat for the matinee tomorrow and my best friend won for the evening haha. Not sure if that is indicative of how easy this one will be in the long run.
