I'll be honest, that just looks like what you'd get if you asked ChatGPT to make the Bridge cast American. Those are the same people they just tip more.

I saw her a couple of weeks ago as Jadis/The White Witch in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe when the tour stopped in at Sadlers wells and she was good in the role, although strangely I can't remember how much singing she had to do! It is a show with songs though so there was definitely some singing involved.

That was Katy Stephens, not Kate Fleetwood. Kate Fleetwood just finished starring in the West End “My Master Builder” (new play loosely inspired by the Ibsen), which she absolutely stole from the rest of the cast.
I didn’t realize Kate Fleetwood is married to Rupert Goold
Jamie Parker is also a very cute man, so, I'd love to see him for that alone. Unfortunately I have no way I can see this show, so I'll have to rely on pics, clips, and you good people who see it's descriptions. I hope they do a proshot, too.
I don't know enough about the actors in the cast, so I think what I'm most looking forward to, especially if I can't see a proshot, is the design elements, which, based on Tom Scutt's previous work, should be amazing.
I still wish I had gotten to see a proshot of Terry Gilliam's version.

I absolutely stand corrected - didn't check my programme before I typed and I just remembered "Unexpected Kate/y" and clearly had it confused in my head with all the master builer posters I had seen on the tube! Totally my bad.
I find the "meh" reaction to the casting kind of amusing, because *from what I've seen, anyway* there's quite a bit of excitement about it among UK theatre fans--which of course is what matters. But I think the main interest is about the director, and how it will be staged at The Bridge.
The names just don’t mean much to people here. Ask pretty much anyone here if they’re excited for Chumisa Dornford-May and they’ll just stare at you. Whereas people familiar with her (myself included) are very excited.

Right, that was my point ;) Just that some of the posts here seem to ignore the fact that this cast isn't meant to excite an American fanbase or something...
Oh exactly, I was just agreeing with you :)

Funny that you use her as a reference, she was the only name that jumped out as a great choice after seeing her in Here We Are. I’ve seen many of these actors, but none jump out as a name. Compare this, for example, to the last two major London Sondheim revivals, Company and Follies. Both had major names attached (for theater anyway). I don’t see anyone of that caliber here.
Don't get me wrong, I’m going to see it (and left a space to see it twice if I love it), it’s just the announcement, as delayed as it was, felt rather blah. To me anyway, the West End Board is going absolute ape**** over this cast.
I guess I'm a weirdo with a penchant for strong-jawed women, but the very idea of Kate Fleetwood as the Witch reduces me to a jabbering fool. Jamie Parker is just a cherry on the sundae.
He’s going be incredible in the 2nd act!
I wanted to post this in the most recent, relevant thread, forgive me if it shouldn't go here. I figure not much is gonna be talked about an overseas revival of this show over here so it couldn't hurt.
Jordan Catalano, Into the Woods is your favorite show, right? And Jake Gyllenhaal is in your avatar so you are a big fan of him, right? I don't know, but did you know that Jake was rumored to be Rapunzel's Prince in the film version? Well, I found a web site by someone named Christian Cordella, who helped Colleen Atwood do the costumes for the film, and I found what looked like a mock-up of a starting idea for the that prince's costume with Jake in it:
I found his web site here: Christian Cordella's site
I thought I'd also post images of my own costumes for an imaginary production:

I can't wait to see what the designs for this London revival will look like!
Follies. I don't suppose any of you UK people saw Anna Jane Casey as Sally Durant Plummer this month? Jacqueline Dankworth, Leslie Garret, 35 piece orchestra…?

Rave reviews from the handful of people on TheatreBoard UK posting about the Grand Opera House Belfast production of Follies. Sounds stunning and that there are hopes of a future life for it.

Thank you, Steve. Seems like it deserves more than a one-week run.
re: Gyllenhaal in “Into the Woods” - yes, I knew about him supposedly doing it and all I can say is THANK GOD he didn’t. He truly dodged a bullet with that one. Even he couldn’t have saved that clusterf**k of a movie.
Re Jordan Catalano: Oh. I like the movie, but I understand it is underwhelming. Did you see the Terry Gilliam version in the UK?
This is extremely late, but Mickey Jo did an interview with Katie Brayben, who is playing the Baker's Wife, just before the cast was announced.
Not so late, the Bridge Theatre web site has a little video up with the director talking about the show.
People on the UK theatre board were clamouring for Chumisa and Gracie to be their roles. Some said Gracie would be too old, but we'll see! I heard bits of Chumisa in Evita and she sounded great, though not that soft, so we'll see what her Cinderella will be like. I listened to a bit of singing from Jo Foster who will be Jack. They will be an interesting Jack since usually he is kind of played as a meek boy.

Is that fiddler on the roof coming here? And what about Oliver? Or guys and dolls
Some old artwork and some new, even spookier artwork for the show:
