I don't think I'll be able to sleep now.
I'll sleep better.

You don't understand.
First A TALE OF TW CITIES closed and that was my favoritest show ever. Now "13" is closing and that is my second favoritest show ever.
I can't sleep. I can't breathe. Life has lost it's meaning.
Personally, I'm shattered. Thank God we still have GREASE.

GREASE is amazing, but it don't have the heart of "13".

I will miss it but I want to see some of them nominated for Tonys and it was the first all teen cast I want more of those.

Im with you on that. There should be lots more shows about teens and with teens in the cast.
Has a teenager ever directed a how on Broadway?

Patti is going to get jealous with talk like that.
Hey, they could put the cast of 13 straight into GREASE! It might be the first time the cast have been anywhere near the appropriate age.
I'm still trying to get over reNt....

Oh whatever. The show wasn't a train wreck. Sure, it could have used a better technical hand (those sets SUCK), but it had a catchy score, and I thought the lyrics were sort of clever.
It just sucks for the Tonys. It makes it more interesting when everything is open and running, but now all the nominees seem so predictable. I hope NERDS is still opening this season. That seems interesting.
It wasn't a train wreck, it was a tween wreck,

i saw the show for the first time a week ago and loved it. im bummed too that its closing but i think it is true that they made this so high schools and middle schools can do it which is a great thing. ill def go see the show again before it closes
Can't say that I'm shocked that YOU loved it.

cant say that i care? lol get a life
I didn't sleep a wink last night worrying about all those poor teenage performers out of work!
(haha)
I'm annoyed as it was in my list of shows to see in February, now I need a new one!

Well, sorry, but I'm not surprised that you 40 something drama queens didn't enjoy the show. You're not its target audience, so get over it. The shows closing, yeah, we get it. No need to be a sarcastic bitch about it. Just move on. I'm not saying I have any real big ties to this show, I can see the def. faults in it, but it's just annoying when people continually diss something. Sure it ain't "Oklahoma" but it wasn't a train wreck.

But isn't that the point - there is no target audience for this show. The format is unsustainable on Broadway.

thank you rentboy you put it great. the show does have flaws in it but i enjoyed myself and i'm 18 obviously people who are a little older might not have enjoyed it as much. i had fun at the show and this is now spamalot, spring awakening, hairspray, 13 closing in january? thats sad. but it will make room for new creations and i think that since the economy is bad this will inspire writers/composers to work harder to try and make a really good show.
Exactly! Rentboy how about you seeking a life!
Spring Awakening has a young target audience, but it appeals to people of all ages. Pixar makes children's movies that appeal to everyone. So just because it appeals to its target audience doesn't make it good.
However, I don't know what those teens are going to do now that the show is closing! I hate to see them forced back into going to school. What a cruel, cruel fate for such talent. Maybe Disney can work something out and start writing Junior High School Musical. How totally awesome would that be!!!
I'm bummed that it ISN'T closing sooner.
Sooner meaning tomorrow. Or last week.
I hate to see actors out of work but this show was really bad.
I really didn't care for it. The person who came with me though loved it.
I never like to hear things close but this show is not worthy of Broadway. Why not bring back his better work. I loved THE LAST FIVE YEARS, it is one of my favorite shows.

ANYTIME people are out of work (especially people doing something that they love), its never a good thing.
Thats your opinion, that its not worthy of Broadway-- I am CERTAIN that a number of shows that you find "worthy of broadway", others wouldnt.
"Forbidden Broadway" shouldnt even be Off-Broadway, but thats just my opinion.
I wish that I had as much talent as these kids have--- at any age !
