Alright, time for the idiot question:
Is this pronounced Job (like the occupation) or Jobe (like the biblical person)? Or both, like Appropriate?
Like the occupation. Without giving anything away, it is about a tech worker who places a LOT of meaning and value into their job. It’s also one of the best plays I’ve seen this year. Very excited this will have a larger platform!

And the "This will never survive without stars in the cast!" contingent will sound off in 5...4...3...2...

Well, it is running only two and a half months and costs nothing to run, which will help its chances.

It's a small theater. Plus it's limited run.

Peter Friedman is Joan Allen’s ex-husband and Sydney Lemmon is Jack Lemmon’s grand daughter. They are Star-Adjacent ;)
On Thursdays they have 5pm & 8:30pm shows. Very smart!

The term "eleven o'clock number" originated from shows that started at 8:30 and would have their big climactic moment about 2.5 hours into the runtime. Yet here we are with two shows doing 8:30 curtains this summer (Job and Oh Mary), but none of them are musicals and none are long enough for an eleven o'clock number to once again occur at 11pm!!!!

I think its pronounced like the former, but it definitely is meant to connotate both JOB as in occupation and JOB the Biblical figure.

Figured they had another 4-6 weeks built in. Tough to make anything work economically in just 8 weeks, even if these actors are making close to scale and they're able to re-use some physical assets from Off-Bway.

So Second Stage season will probably be only two plays at best ? Last year it was Appropriate and Mother Play, excited to hear what they have this year !

They've just been producing 2 Broadway plays each year post-Covid. Safe to assume the same this year.
I don't know what their off-Bway output will be like without the Kiser and being programmed by Bennett Leak (Carole's deputy who was announced as the Interim AD for a season), but I've heard rumblings that their new venue will be announced soon (renting space within another nonprofit theatre's midtown complex).

Second Stage is in a hard place at the moment, with their longtime AD stepping down and the loss of their off-Bway venue at the end of the year. I imagine their 24-25 season will need to be very lean.
Sydney Lemmon is Jack Lemmon’s granddaughter?!? NEPOTISM! HOW DARE THEY! CANCEL THE WHOLE PRODUCTION RIGHT NOW!

Nah, I think this fits more into the narrative you can't successfully put a play on Broadway without a Succession actor.
Jeremy Strong is in An Enemy of the People, Natalie Gold is in Appropriate, Juliana Canfield is in Stereophonic, Arian Moayed was in A Doll's House, Sarah Snook is bringing The Picture of Dorian Gray to Broadway...
This show has two Succession actors and has to fill literally the smallest theater on Broadway.

from the Broadway Briefing:
The producers of Job announced that Grammy-nominated composer, producer, and songwriter Devonté Hynes, also known professionally as Blood Orange, will compose original music for the upcoming Broadway production.
Does anyone know if this would be music played before the show, or are they adding music to the actual show?

The quote in this article makes it clear that the music is being integrated into the play:

they're not gonna hire Devonte for pre-show music. Probably gonna be instrumental though.
