Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande in SITPWG? — Page 4

I’m not even an Ariana Grande fan, but this feels like one of those must see events. I went ahead and purchased the Membership Plus after learning my lesson when Merrily We Roll Along was about to go on sale at NYTW. And I figure is going to be cheaper for me to go see it in London than for me to do the same if it ever comes to Broadway.

I actually like it. It separates the Georges from the Louies.

OFFS -- who says youhaveto? Feel free to wait until the week before -- see how that works out for you!"
You're right, I'll just plan a last minute trip across the Atlantic assuming I can get a ticket. Thanks

Katrina Lenk in Company is one of my all time favorite performances. It was truly outrageous that she wasn’t nominated for a Tony award. She was truly extraordinary, I don’t care if she was flat singing being alive. As far as Dot is concerned, I’ve only seen one production of SITPWG, the regional one a couple years ago with Graham Phillips, Talia Suskauer, and the ballet dancers, and I did think it’s a supporting role, but we like to turn it into a leading role the same way we do for Sally Bowls. I’m sorry, but those are both supporting roles in my opinion. Definitely not as substantial as Mrs Lovett who is also not the title character but very much leads.

SteveSanders said: "Just in case it doesn't go without saying. Barbican membership (of any level) won't guarantee getting a ticket (it's spelled out in there T&C) and London shows are more prone to hold back a decent percentage of seats for staggered released to the general public. Whether or not that occurs with this production remains to be seen, but I would be a bit surprised if it didn't."
Did you notice many tickets open up for the Blanchett Seagull after the original on-sale? Sporadically, sure, a pair here and there, but for much more than the member on-sale and on random dates. I’ll note this theater isn’t that large and seats about 900 seats less than the Gershwin (which Ariana could sell a year’s worth of tickets without much publicity at all).
To what someone asked above about which level to donate: the highest you’re willing to go, factoring what you expect the ticket price will be (and it’ll still be still less than NY prices, presuming it transfers), is what I plan on doing.
This will be the biggest show this not-for-profit arts institution has ever witnessed. I plan on taking the day off when tickets go on-sale, I expect demand to be that high.

Assuming you’re in the States, tickets will go on sale at either 5am or 7am (east coast time) depending on if they’re one sale 10am or noon in London, so you probably won’t have to take the day off work - you’ll just be really tired.

I bought the £114.00 membership. Here’s hoping it helps me get in and able to buy during the eventual presale.

Crap. Now I have to get to London from Australia just to see this. Thankfully Paddington will be on as well. I just need Into The Woods to extend.

While I appreciate your comment, and am aware of London on-sales (especially the Almeida and major concerts in London): I think this is going to be Taylor/Oasis level ticket sales. Going to have some strong tea ready to go!
I also have my own practice so taking the day off is more like making sure my calendar is clear :-)

I'm super intrigued to see Tom Scutt's designs for this -- curious to see which direction it goes: literal or abstract. I'd really love to see him design a production of Follies.

there was another large release after the original onsale. I honestly didnt like the seats offered in the first on-sale for seagull and waited till the second release.

There is no further update. I’m a member and still waiting for any kind of email about it.

Thanks. I’m certainly willing to pay for the membership, but would like some info. Although it seems like a ton of people joined up, so who knows how much it would
even help.

I’m crossing my fingers the membership plus option helps! But who knows what it will end up looking like.

Back in January they cryptically said they were putting some sort of plan together. I can’t imagine it won’t be a nightmare of a bloodbath but I am eagerly awaiting the next step.

I’m expecting a sh*tshow unlike anything I’ve ever experienced trying to buy tickets.

I just hope that the director can reign Ariana in from her performative approach and bring forward in her real integrity to the role. I do think she can do it both vocally and authentically with the right direction. However, her performative approach to talk shows and press circuits during the Wicked press tour makes me doubtful. I just feel that someone in her circle has convinced her that more is more at the expense of her being really authentic.

I'll be honest, this makes very little sense to me. Actors will say any number of things on the press junket, but what matters is their actual performance. Ariana was by far and away the best part of both Wicked movies, and she's clearly a dedicated and intelligent actress that highly respects the source material she works with. If Marianne Elliott trusts her with the material, I trust Marianne Elliott until I'm presented something to convince me otherwise. I'm not doubting Ariana at all.

So I just went over to the website out of curiosity and noted it now says this “Tickets will go on sale in Summer 2026”. It was originally May right? I don’t remember seeing the change that

They changed it for sure. It used to say Spring.
