Cancelled, with Empire Street Productions retaining the stage rights to produce it independent of the Barbican in 2028. What a shame.

Wonder if they think they can get both stars back for 2028 and thus are deciding to push it back a year rather than recasting for 2027. Either way, still want to see Marianne’s vision for this show someday…

As someone else noted, the announcement said nothing about Marianne Elliot (or any member of the creative team) being involved in a future Empire production at any theatre. Whatever happens in the future is going to be entirely different from this fiasco.
