No...I just got excited about it. I heard it at the stage door from my friend who talks to the cast a lot, I didn't know we needed links. I tried to find an official article and there isn't one, so I guess my friend could be wrong, btu she said she heard it from some kb cast members at stage door
i didn't ask personally (too scared haha) but i'll ask her who said it
Yeah, um, gossip from your friend who "talks to the cast a lot" at stagedoor doesn't really count as information. How old are you, 16?
And since when do all the leads of a Broadway cast have to leave together? I can think of tens of shows off the top of my head where that hasn't been the case. As far as Ashford's replacement, I've heard Kathleen Monteleone, Alex Ellis, Christina DeCicco, Mara Davi, Lauren Molina, and Haven Burton have all been in for the part.
It SELDOM happens that all leads leave the same time. They have individual contracts, and unless there is a problem, it is up to the actor to continue. They have to weigh many things, but usually current offers/opportunities is high on the list.
There is seldom a mass exodus from any cast. I can only think of Spring Awakening in recent memory that did this: Both leads (Michele and Groff) left together and then the majority of the remaining core cast departed together later that year. I'm sure there ARE other examples, but it is NOT the norm.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
"Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford to Depart KINKY BOOTS in 2014; Billy Porter Extends Run Through July" Isn't July in 2014 also? LOL
Stark is actually leaving first = end of January, Annaleigh in March and Billy possibly in July but maybe will stay longer. Certainly not at the same time.
The Addams Family at the same time? Yeah a bunch did - except for Bebe Neuwirth who stayed a number about three extra months to work with her good friend Roger Rees.
Congrats to Abby Mueller (yes, sister of Jessie) on making her Broadway debut in Kinky Boots on December 23rd! :)
"But there is a silver lining to this sad news—Tony winner Billy Porter, who plays drag diva Lola, has extended his contract, and will remain with the production through at least July 2014. Natalie Joy Johnson (Legally Blonde) and Abby Mueller (Broadway debut) will join the cast on December 23, 2013, taking over for original ensemble members Tory Ross and Lucia Spina, respectively." - Broadway.com

So it seems Natalie will have the part of Pat and Abby will be a swing...
Based on a breakdown I saw go out, Abby Mueller would take the swing track that was the U/S for the older female supporting parts like Pat and Trish. How cute that she and her sister are on Broadway at the same time...54 Below, get on this, let's do a cabaret!
Stark Sands would be an absolutely ideal Cliff in CABARET, but given how frequently he works in film and television, I don't see him jumping right into another stage project for an extended amount of time after the year he's given KINKY BOOTS (and especially for a role with so little to do).
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
