This has the potential to be incredible.

...but who's writing and directing it?

Interesting that there wasn't a single creative listed.
Sooo much potential. Let's get a good creative team and get her a costar.
....can we please get Idina to costar?
Sherie René Scott to costar, please.

Oh, YES.
Has Kate Hudson been on Broadway?
No. Kate Hudson has yet to make her Broadway debut.
Yazbek is the most logical (and best) choice for this, right?
Or LaChiusa. He does well with pre-established story structures, and it would be great to hear him really let go and have fun.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time and I am INCREDIBLY skeptical of Chenoweth attached to this. If she's playing anyone, it should be Helen Sharp. I don't see her as a Madeline. Now, Sherie Rene Scott would be an incredible Madeline.

What happened to Cheno starring in Soapdish?
Love the film. Interested to see the creative team. Hopefully, Yazbeck is the composer.
This would be a good fit for Yazbek, or the camp sensibilities of Shaiman and Wittman.

Thought the same thing. Will any Cheno project see the light of day?
Wasn't she also attached to the Betty Boop musical that seems to have been abandoned?

And the Chenoweth Hello Dolly and the Chenoweth Tammy Faye Musical.
Obviously, many actors become attached to projects that end up going nowhere.. just, usually, they don't broadcast it. But it seems like Chenoweth is more likely to be announced for them.
Don't forget the Cheno-led Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and the Dolly Parton Bio-Musical!
Yazbek was my intitial thought for the score, too. I also love the Shaimam/Wittman idea. Or maybe Lippa since he and the Cheno have a history.
As they say on "Shark Tank":
It's a little too early for me at this point. You have an idea, but it's not a business. Because of that, I'm out.

Love the Shaiman/Wittman idea. LaChiusa is also compelling.

Out of the ideas here, ^this makes most sense to me. I'd even angle for Laura Benanti, Annaleigh Ashford, or Lena Hall to go all ham with the role.

She did just do Hairspray Live so she had a history with Shaiman/Wittman as well.
I’ll believe it when the curtain actually goes up. This is what, the 13th “new musical” that Chenoweth is attached to in the past 2 years, none of which have actually happened?
