We were invited by a Sotheby's connection and hope we can stop by for it.
Nathaniel Stampley as the Baron, Zoe Glick is the new Kizette, and OMFG Beth Leavel is the new Baroness!

I just went from “I guess I’ll see this show” to “LET ME SEE THIS, NOW”.
Exciting!
I didn't see the previous versions –– is the Baroness a great part? I know she's been played by Rachel Tucker and Jacquelyn Ritz.
Thrilled to see Natalie Joy Johnson in this!

There was a gorgeous song for her toward the end of act 2 in Williamstown. I’m not sure if it made it to La Jolla

Matt Gould is doing a live chat on The Roundtable with me at 8pm ET tonight (Tuesday the 23rd) on YouTube followed by it up on The Broadway Podcast Network! Should be interesting to see what he says! Send questions!

"I'd Like Him to Remember Me" survived the La Jolla rewrites although the surrounding scenes and first verse to her self was cut. It now follows "The Time I Didn't Know You" duet between Rafaela and Tamara. (That has changed into a trio and the melody from "Spinning" has been replaced).
I'm interested to see how much has changed from La Jolla considering how much they changed between Williamstown and La Jolla (I still have a soft spot for so many moments from WTF).
Matt Gould said in the Roundtable live chat last night that Beth Leavel has a stunning 11o’clock number.
Really looking forward to it.

Imagine "I'd Like Him to Remember Me" is the song he's referencing and my god Beth's going to destroy me with it.
I think this is the new musical I'm most looking forward to this season! Or tied with Suffs but we saw that at the Public, so already know we are likely to enjoy it. And I know very little about Lempicka except for a fictionalized novel I've read about her and what little I learned (so far) online. (Trying not to "over-educate" myself.)
Ditto Dramamama611. Lempicka is the show I am looking most forward to.
WOW. That 'Woman Is" song!!! I really want to see this now.
Some brief scenic and costume design renderings can be seen in this "first day of rehearsal" video. Elegant and simplistic, a bit of a Follies vibe.

I love it! Definitely my most anticipated show and the design is making me more excited for it.
This looks and sounds like it's going to be a beautiful show. I am going to the second preview and can't wait. Definitely one of my most anticipated shows of the season.
Just realized Zoe Glick (the great young star of The Bedwetter) is in this!
Not that there isn’t plenty to like already in this musical, but I hope the creative team is making necessary changes for further improvement.
Based on everything I have heard from friends and insiders, the La Jolla iteration was in better shape than Williamstown, but it still felt like the art was separated from the artist. The two should blend well together, kind of like Sunday in the Park with George.
Also, some portions of the second act still need to be edited or cut. And scrapping one or two of Eden’s many power ballads in the show wouldn’t hurt either.

These songs seem really lacking—and completely without any dramatic arc. 🤷🏻♂️
They have now replaced the Longacre marquee with the show’s key art. Hopefully that means they are bringing the “Tamara in a Green Bugatti” canvas - which used to be there - inside.
