Mr. Wormwood said: "So Beanie is performing tonight? I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise."

It's 8:30 EDT time now. So I imagine she's there.

If I were to suppose, there is some contractual agreement that she would forfeit any salary if she doesn't show up through the 31st.

Besides the Great Comet fiasco, Many Patinkin was also welcomed back with open arms in the theatre community after his disgusting antics in The Wild Party.

I wonder if she too has changed or if she's been emboldened to be an even bigger bully. Lea Michele currently has no career because of her bad reputation. It'll be interesting if she makes an effort here."

Husband, house, a mortgage, a baby. Makes a difference. I said in a way earlier post that people don't change, which isn't really true or fair. People do change (I really don't know what all this hate toward her) when they see a need, and if she can see where she was at fault, and was sincere in her apology, she will likely be just fine.

The only way for people to care is if the behavior is made public. Otherwise people don't know about it. I genuinely don't know who you're talking about, so I can't care.

Haven't read the article yet but its WILD to me that the producers have the gall to consider firing her during previews. Why? She sounded different than she did throughout rehearsals? They hadnt noticed? I can understand if the sales werent there but they were clearing $1m/week through summer. Firing someone who is 100% performing AS YOU KNEW SHE WOULD seems outrageous to me and again, contractually impossible assuming lawyers had any say in this.

Never heard anything but great things about her from friends in the industry, but I do think she's boring AF and doesn't deserve to be a big of a deal as she is based on that, lol.

Just saw some tickets for FG on TDF...with all artwork of Beanie's face gone (her name is still there). It looks...sad.  Kinda like this whole situation.

I assume they will also use this as an opportunity to re-do the whole ad campaign (more than just getting rid of the caricatures). The key art has never been good.

This sounds more like you being excited about having inside “intel” than actual gossip. Almost everyone who’s become big has had negative rumors spread about them. My goodness, I remember people trying to say Idina Menzel was difficult back in the day, lol. Unless someone credible comes out and says something pretty damning—as happened with Michele—your gossip won’t be taken very seriously.

Beanie should use some of the family cash to build herself a time machine, go back to when she was 3 or whatever, and convince mini-Beanie to drop the Streisand obsession and find a new idol. She got herself into this mess - “I’ve wanted to play Fanny Brice forever, and this is my dream-come-true, pinch-me moment!” bla bla bla - and now is mad at OTHER people for how this has turned out?
She was given the chance to succeed. She failed miserably. I had her number from the first scream in Hello, Dolly.

I thought Benko's posts were in poor form. I asked about that here but the consensus was that in this age of social media this is the way it goes. I wonder if with Lea coming in they will go to an imposed social media blackout... like they did with Bette in Dolly. I think they should.
"

I absolutely disagree with this assessment.  Julie has been wonderful in all of this.  There is nothing wrong with keeping people informed about her "opportunities" in performing the role.  She is always happy and excited to get those chances.  I am mystified why there are those who would prefer a social media blackout.  I think they SHOULD NOT.

Expecting an understudy to not promote the F*CK out of going on for a legendary role when it happens is insane. Every understudy who wants to build a career will want to let people know when they are going on. It's very exciting for them and it gives people an opportunity to GET excited about them. If the understudy is better than the actual star, it's not the understudy's job to make themselves smaller to accommodate that. Hell no.

In the Golden Age of Broadway, Beanie would have been fired in previews (or Out-of-Town). She was not good enough for a ticket-paying audience. There's a lot of reasons Broadway has declined and they all center around cowardly producers who refuse to change anything during rehearsal and previews. Beanie should have been gone by week two and those dreadful rewrites should have been cut or rewritten so they were good.

To paraphrase Ethel Merman: This ain't Broadway.

I'm confused.  Who are some of y'all trashing now?  Lea?  Patinkin?  An Oscar-winning Tony host?  Julie?

Such unpleasantness.

Beanie will soon be out.  Lea will soon be in.

The Inside Source: “This is partly our fault, because if we had done what we were supposed to do at the beginning we wouldn’t be here. We didn’t take swift enough action to remove her.”

Translation: being nice at the start and giving Beanie a chance was a mistake.

But can you imagine how mad the Beanie people would have been if they’d fired her after opening? The producers can’t win. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. The common denominator is the sub-par Beanie.

Me thinks Ms. Lynch does not want to bother with Godzilla when she doesn't have to.

"We have been in touch about it. You know, it was just a really strong idea to have Feldshuh and Lea premiere together. That's the only reason [we won't appear together.] I adore her. She's just going to take this show and make it her own. I'm so glad she's getting the opportunity in real life to do the show and not just on Glee." - Jane Lynch

How embarrassing.

Uhhh....why did you guys put her there in the FIRST place? One uncomfortable conversation before previews started would have saved everyone a lot ot time and pain. Are we that "nice" a society now that no one can have a tough conversation? Best just to avoid it?

Jesus.

Is it really out of the realm of possibility that Jane, who as far as I know, has NEVER said anything negative about anyone publicly, is doing some damage control because she’s still in this dumpster fire for over a month?

Whether what she says is true or not, don’t be so naive that everything a star says is true. Come on, now.

Agreed. It's a press statement that was done in a very professional manner. Now that doesn't mean I think Lynch has anything against Michelle, but... I think the answer is still in the "it's anyone's guess" realm.

Gotta disagree. She didn't have to say anything. She could have said something sweet and lovely about her current cast or BF. She chose not to. She chose to talk about her former colleague who has a ton of friends in this business and seems to be really loved by her family, friends and fans alike. I hope she understands she needs to behave professionally and not act like a jerk, though.

She never did any damage control before with the horrible reviews, the terrible performance by the leading lady, the rumors, poor attendance etc. She remained silent through it all.  I think she just defended her friend publicly which I wholly respect.

A little of the magic is gone with all the social media backstage stuff.  I miss the mystique.

Wait, why did you think that? I thought Julie wanted to alert people to her going on so they could be aware so they could exchange tickets if they wanted to. I think she just wanted people to be in the know. There wasn't a whiff of negativity unless Im missing something.

I thought Funny Girl's socials not mentioning or supporting her was in poor form, honestly.
