According to Emma Degerstedt she and Samantha Pollino will cover the female leads, no news on who is who.
I believe Emma is covering Lea.
I don't remember the last time I saw a David Rockwell set that was interesting or impressive.

I loved his Tony winning work on She Loves Me and also liked Side Show revival and I thought his work on Pirates from this last season was fun.

Maybe Daniel Beeman as U/S Freddie? He has a phantastic voice but but I'm not sure if he's the right guy acting wise.
And Hannah isn't first cover Florence after all?

I was wondering about Daniel too.
Those other girls are understudies, that doesn't mean Hannah isn't the standby.

I feel like Lea would never allow it for fear of a reverse Beanie Manuevor on her. Hannah's voice is pretty amazing.

According to Samantha’s TikTok , she is the understudy for both Florence and Svetlana.

A stand by will be backstage without a nightly role onstage. If she had to go on but was already in another role onstage, there would be a trickledown effect of other coverage being activated and more chaos than anyone would submit to. Svetlana is likely just Svetlana in this.

You probably meant Cascade Effect. Trickle Down is mostly used as a dishonest excuse for giving rich people more taxpayer money.
Anyway, I seem to remember that other shows did set up their casting for exactly this effect. Apparently, sometimes having the best possible ersatz for a lead is more important than everything else.

it would be nice if we could go a day without pitching women against each other.

Love Casey, but I feel like he would be a better Freddie understudy. I feel like Shavey Brown would be the better option (which is not to say he won’t - I can’t imagine having just one U/S) because Casey (as far as I know) is NOT a bass/baritone and has that boyish look.

Just using Funny Girl as an example there were multiple covers of various people in the ensemble who weren't the main cover. eg Julie was both standby and alternate and Ephie was the understudy. Ramin had a standby and two understudies.
let's wait and see.

It is so tiring.

I'd like to note though that in this case the pitching women against each other is just a welcome byproduct. The main intention is picking on LM, plain and simple.

Well there is one tiny improvement for LCT, that nobody has actually mentioned and it’s that David Korins is doing the new scenic design."
I wish Korins was the set designer for Chess not a fan of Rockwell's sets! Also, who's this costume designer Tom Broecker , SNL? Not impressed but we'll see?

I'm not pitting them against each other, Lea just has a horrible ass attitude and I very much feel like that that is the reality of the situation that her divadom would never allow her to be overshadowed by her understudy which would happen if Hannah went on for her.

Aah, the **** stirring worked. Let's do more of it.
How does Lea have a horrible attitude? Are people still going all the way back to glee?? That was literally a decade ago, move on people. It seemed like the year she was in Funny Girl, she was professional, nice, and had a stellar attendance record. She also replaced so how much of an ego can she have?

Every time this happens I'm tempted to write my Magnum Opus about how 90% of these diva stories don't even add up. But that would turn this thread into an epic mess.
