Since I've seen few of the musicals and I don't remember the "Fela!" numbers well enough, I'll offer just these ideas:
-"Memphis" should do "Underground" for their song. Though Glover is in this one and not Kimball, I thought this was an enticing opening number that raised my low expectations (which, of course, lowered again when the dialogue started). I think this would be as attention-grabbing as "It's Your Wedding Day" from "The Wedding Singer" was.
-They will no doubt do a Sondheim tribute, so I think it would be interesting for Barbara Cook and Catherine Zeta-Jones to do "Send in the Clowns" together.
-I hope they'll let "Finian" and "Ragtime" do short bits since they let "Pal Joey" do one last year. For "Finian," it would be either "Glocca Morra" or "Old Devil Moon." For "Ragtime," it would be either "Wheels of a Dream" or "Back to Before."
Once I see "La Cage" on Sunday, I'll probably have one for that show as well. Any more ideas?
I was wondering about Finian's Rainbow and Ragtime, as well. Isn't Kate Baldwin supposed to be in London doing Paradise Found at Tony time, though? I think "How Are Things in Glocca Morra?" or "Old Devil Moon" would ordinarily be the best choice, but if Baldwin's not there, maybe Christopher Fitzgerald could do "When I'm Not Near the Girl I Love."

I think Memphis should do Steal Your Rock n' Roll. It's got the entire cast and has that catchy "na na na" part of the chorus that sticks in your head.

Night Music - A Weekend in the Country
La Cage - Best of Times
American Idiot - Holiday
Night Music is going to want to feature Lansbury too. Glamorous Life is the perfect choice. Features both stars, and is a pretty catchy song. I can see them wearing the act 2 costumes for it though, as the costumes in the actual show are all black for that number.
I would think American Idiot would do 21 Guns.

Fela - unnamed song. kere kay something.
Addams - when your an addams again???
Idiot - Holiday. i would have thought they would have done st. jimmy into she's a rebel/last american girls, had tony vincent got nominated.

Addams wasn't nominated for anything that would make it perform.
"The Best of Times" would be THRILLING for LA CAGE AUX FOLLES to do in Radio City. However, it doesn't feature Kelsey Grammer, and it isn't exactly the eye candy (in both sense of the word) that would make for a good commercial.
Perhaps LA CAGE is better off doing an edit of the opening, then transitioning into "I Am What I Am." This would have Grammer begin their number right off the bat, provide the eye-candy and spectacle, and then showcase Hodges.
FINIAN'S RAINBOW- Medley ("That Great 'Come-and-Get-It' Day"/"Finale")
LA CAGE AUX FOLLES- Medley ("We Are What We Are"/"I Am What I Am")
A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC- "A Weekend in the Country"
RAGTIME- "Prologue: Ragtime"
AMERICAN IDIOT- "21 Guns"
FELA!- "Zombie"
MEMPHIS- "Steal Your Rock 'n' Roll"
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET- ?
I really don't mean to sound like a broken record. But WEEKEND would be a huge mistake for Night Music to do. It doesn't feature Angela, and they obviously would cut out Desiree's dialogue with Fredrika, so then it wouldn't even include CZJ.
Glamorous Life is the obvious choice. I can also see them doing something like the Night Waltz leading into Glamorous.
I think the Glamorous Life would be good for the Tonys, but I could also see a mashup of Liasons and Clowns. All they need is the two stars.
Addams Family will be performing.
I don't see Idiot doing 21 guns. The only way I see them doing that is if Green Day performs with them again like they did at the Grammys.
I see them doing either the title song or Holiday. I would want to show the energy that the show things.
Ljay, I completely agree that The Glamorous Life is the perfect song choice for Night Music.
Memphis will do 'Underground' or 'Steal Your Rockin Roll'
Kristin Chenoweth should perform "I Say A Little Prayer"
I would love Ragtime to do 'Til We Reach That Day
ljay889, under normal circumstances, I'd agree with you, but considering both Zeta-Jones and Lansbury will be leaving the show shortly after the Tonys, I don't think NIGHT MUSIC's song choice will be as centered toward featuring them as a selling point.
We will see!
FINIAN'S RAINBOW- ???
LA CAGE AUX FOLLES- Medley ("We Are What We Are"/"I Am What I Am")
A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC- Medley("Glamorous Life"/"Send In The Clowns")
RAGTIME - "New Music" if they can get a good amount of the cast since it features Steggert & Noll.
AMERICAN IDIOT- "21 Guns"
FELA!- "Zombie"
MEMPHIS- Medley ("Underground/" Memphis Lives In Me")
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET- ????
PLUS:
PROMISES, PROMISES - Sean Hayes solo??
ADDAMS FAMILY - Full Disclosure if they're given enough time; if not; Tango??

Fela! has already performed Zombie and Upside Down on talk shows, I would guess that they either do "Everything Scatter" because it's the opening number and introduces you to their world, or "I.T.T./Kere Kay" because it's the act one finale and it emphasizes the "revolutionary/black president" aspect of the show.
American Idiot's number is a real challenge to predict. The obvious choice would be the opening number or 21 Guns, but I'm afraid the title number is too boring for a Tony broadcast and too vulgar and 21 Guns was done to death on that other awards show. Holiday would be a stupid choice because it doesn't feature the full cast and sounds too much like the album. Their best choice would be to pick a song that emphasizes Tom Kitt's beautiful reorchestrations and reinventions of Green Day's music (which SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED). Personally, I would pick Boulevard of Broken Dreams or Wake Me Up When September Ends into the end of Whatsername. If Tony Vincent had been nominated, they easily would have thrown Know Your Enemy or St. Jimmy in there.
A Little Night Music will most likely do a medley of Send In the Clowns, an Angela Lansbury song, and finish with A Weekend in the Country.
La Cage would do well to begin their number with Kelsey Grammer/Georges introducing the Cagelles, who perform "We Are What We Are", then parting to reveal Doug Hodge and "I Am What I Am".
Fela! will do that audience participation number so they can make Rosemary Harris get up and move her waist around to the different clock positions.
The performance of "The Glamorous Life" I saw was disastrous. I would do everything in my power not to see the show if that were performed at the Tonys. I think a medley of sorts is in order, throwing in "Liaisons," "Send in the Clowns," and "Night Waltz" in there. "Send in the Clowns" is Catherine's best moment in the show and also the most popular number ever written by Sondheim. I think it would be silly not to perform at least a bit of it.
La Cage should choose from either one of the previously performed numbers from the show: "We Are What We Are"/"I Am What I Am" or "La Cage aux Folles." Gotta feature Les Cagelles!
I really hope they let Ragtime and Finian's to do something since they got some pretty hefty nominations. Ragtime should do "Back to Before" and Finian's should do "Old Devil Moon."
Also, I hope they let Barbara/Vanessa do their thing and let Sherie do "Up the Ladder to the Roof."
~Steven
ragtime- back to before
night music- glamourous into send in the clowns
memphis-underground
Everyday- Up the ladder to the roof(will she get to perform?)
american idiot- september song into 21 guns
finnians- how are things
would like them to do a medley of the unnominated shows (a la the year with young frank/little mermaid)
and see promises/adams/sonheim etc
Why is everyone assuming the closed shows will perform? I mean It would be nice for them to. But you never know with the Tonys and their inconsistency.
I sure hope we don't see many medlys this year, they usually turn out to be horrific.
