I am totally convinced he is gonna reveal something soon for Hamilton's 10th anniversary!

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

I'm impressed that Lin barely broke.

Pretty strong episode all around and a good hosting/musical-guesting job by Chalamet. The SNL rep company is excellent this year.

Taylor Swift has figured out the way to drop hints of new albums. Sort of feels like the sequel part of his little opening could be a hint that he's working on something in the Hamilton realm?

As brilliant as Lin is, I don't think even he could make lightning strike twice with any kind of follow-up to Hamilton.

Looks like he was working on the sequel during the lock down. Wonder if he's getting closer to making that a reality...

EDIT: Misleading headline. Not a sequel. Just a follow-up. Like another show he was working on. Sorry. I posted before getting past the paywall to see the article itself.

What on earth would that even be? Hamilton's corpse sitting on a turntable for 3 hours?

This Cold Opening sketch was greenlit on Thursday and Lin has said that on Friday Lorne Michaels called him and asked if he could appear in the sketch in such short notice, which he obviously said yes to. His HAMILTON costume was brought out of storage and that’s how that appearance took place on SNL. There is no agenda behind his appearance as Alexander Hamilton on SNL as the sketch was written prior to his involvement. An alternate version without Alexander Hamilton was written in the event Lin wasn’t able to do the sketch.

Definitely not a sequel, but what the follow-up specifically is has me interested. He could be talking about Warriors, but the timeline doesn't quite line up (the interview was in July 2020, and he said he didn't start writing in earnest until Eisa Davis was on board in 2022). Maybe there's another LMM show on the horizon?

Ah, didn't know all of that. It was just a thought. I don't follow Lin so would not have known.

Apparently the alternate version was mostly the same but with Marcello as Lin as Hamilton, and probably some different joke/improv from JAJ about Marcello instead of Lin. Probably referencing the audience wanting to see Domingo instead of rapping.
