i thought it was good. Not great. Aaron and Norbert were great. The set was terrible. the music (except the opening number) was mediocre at best. Kerry Bulter was forgettable. Overall i thought the movie was soooo much better than the show. My hopes were really high.
Now i think since Brian Yorkey got his hand on the book and did some TLC, then maybe it will be improved when it comes to Broadway. I certainly hope so!

I can't wait to see it! From what I've heard of the music I love it!
If I didn't believe in you
We'd never have gotten this far
If I didn't believe in you
And all of the ten thousand women you are
If I didn't think you could do
Anything you ever wanted to
If I wasn't certain that you'd come through somehow
THe fact of the matter is, Cathy
I wouldn't be standing here now

The show in Seattle was great, but it did have problems. Mainly set and book. I don't think they'll be changing the set very much, but I'm sure there are going to be some good re-writes. Otherwise, the show is SO SO SO much fun! Norbert is fantastic and I haven't had so much fun in a theatre as I did with "Bury Me Beside The One I Love". That just put a huge dopey smile on my face. Maybe because I have family in New Orleans and it was so accurate. lol Tom Wopat gives the best performance I've ever seen him give. I was never a fan of his, but he is just terrific. Kerry Butler will be winning a Tony. Not forgettable at all. She would be if it weren't for "Fly, Fly Away". I hope they beef up her role a tiny bit more.
I love the show and wish it bunches of luck on Broadway! If I get up to NY, I will definitley be there!

I'd love it if it turned out that Life In Living Color had been cut from the show.

I just mean for this thread. But then again, wasn't the next to normal thread titled Feeling Electric?
That recording is pretty horrible. Can they not afford real instruments at this stage in the process? Or does the orchestra really consist of just a midi keyboard?

Apparently Jay Armstrong Johnson is joining the CATCH ME cast. Anyone know who he is playing? I'd love for him to understudy Aaron. He was great in Hair.

That was recorded LOOOONG before the Seattle run even. They had that available on the 5th Avenue website years ago I feel like. I think it was from a demo before even Aaron was involved.

If Jay Armstrong Johnson is in fact joining the cast, I can only assume it is as the standby for Frank Abignale Jr.

I saw that Jay's Facebook pic is the poster image and wondered the same thing.

Is Doctor's Orders still in the show? That was a great song! I used to have this demo recording, until my last laptop went kaput! I WISH I would have backed things up! oh, well...

It's from the new demo they did for Seattle.

Apparently, a new promo CD has been released to potential ticket buyers... it includes four tracks and new recordings of some of the songs.
1. Live In Living Color (with Tveit)
2. Jet Set (Company)
3. Butter Outta Cream (with Tveit, and Tom Wopat)
4. Fly, Fy Away (with Kerry Butler)
How can I get this and how do they figure who to send the CDs to? lol.
