I'm hoping to catch Constantine before he leaves. I wasn't too happy at first, but everyone seems to like him.

He's definitely NOT as horrible as I thought he would be, lol. I saw him the second day he was on, well unofficially on since he really started Tuesday rather than that Friday, and I actually liked him. When I saw it a few weeks later I found myself not liking him as much. It seemed he got too comfortable with the role and was adding little things that didn't really fit the character, playing it up a little too much, probably for his fans in the audience. But then I saw it again and he was ok again, haha I guess it depends on the day! The only thing I cannot stand about him are his fans, they are sooooooo pushy at the stagedoor and one time during they just screamed after every line he said or anything he did, so obnoxious and uncalled for and totally ridiculous, until I guess someone told them to please stop. So I don't really mind him, actually growing fond of him to be honest, but I don't like the impact it's having on the crowd at the show and the stagedoor, especially the stagedoor. What a mess!!! Thank goodness he has been coming out fairly quickly because most of them just wait for him so then they leave after. A cast member even asked me if I had ever seen a crowd like that before because she was in total shock at what was going on, since one day a pushy pushy fan of his pushed past the barricades looking for him and found family of his and literally just burst into their personal space. It was horrible, and the worst part of it was the woman was like in her 40's! Then she was going around saying she was friends with his parents. Oy! I would be embarassed!!!

I'm glad people are "getting used to" seeing Constantine on the stage and are enjoying his performances (for the most part! lol...can't expect anybody's performances to be spot-on every time)...
and I'm also glad you are recognizing you can't blame Constantine himself for the way (some of) his fans behave.
Since I live on the west coast I won't be able to see him perform (though I plan to make it a point to see him in Jacques Brel if/when he takes that part, simply because it's a bigger part)... but I am sure enjoying reading about his success, plus of course learning lots about the rest of the WS cast, and about Broadway itself!

Bwaydreams, I read what you said about Constantine fans screaming at every line. I am a fan but I am so sorry for the inappropriate behavior. The screaming is ok at a concert but not in a Broadway play. I know people sometimes whistle or cheer and clap in theatres for short periods but I wish they would not scream or interrupt.
I am of course happy to hear of the grosses going up. I expect a lot of people at the stage door like for other famous people. I have seen that myself for other shows.

If it is who I think you are discussing, she is in her FIFTIES and is a total fame monger, always coming across as more important than she really is--just a big phony really. She shows up at practically every event on the East Coast he is in, even at clubs people in their 20's attend. She is really pushy, loud and crass, and that is just a few of the crazy things she's done.
But not all of his fans are 'out there,' to say the least. Some are actually very respectful. I just hope I have the luck of encountering the more respectful ones when I see the show. So help me, if there is any screeching, I WOULD say something. That is just rude and lowbrow to do such a thing at a theater production, especially Broadway.

Thanks, it's good to know some fans are sane. I'm turning into a fan myself but I will NEVER be over the top like that. Because it really is ridiculous when it just turns into a screaming contest, which fan can scream the loudest. Curtain call is fine, haha I'm standing up and cheering definitely one of the loudest people there, but in the middle of the show really is just rude.

That sounds awful. Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully that is never repeated.
I am glad to hear you have become a fan of Constantine's. That is cool to hear.

Me too! He's such a name and an image and everyone loves him so much that if he wants to continue to have fans he needs to be nice. I do feel sorry for him with some of the people he needs to deal with.
And I'm glad to hear Stephen's doing better!

Actually, he said he still wasn't feeling so great but at least his voice was rested. Or something like that. I don't know, it's really hard to focus when he's talking to me. He's dreamy.

A nice article that interviews Kevin Cahoon for anyone who is interested...
Loose Lips
Ed Harris faces the public, Kevin Cahoon dolls up, and Pamela Myers and Teri Ralston keep each other company in Hats!

Who is in for Constantine tonight since he is singing God Bless America at the Mets game tonight during the 7th inning stretch. Due to the rainout yesterday, he is not singing the National Anthem it seems.

Matt Allen replaced him when I saw the show. In that theatre whoever is I guess famous they are always out when I see a show. I had Christina Applegate's understudy and it was front row seats too and I had Constantine out as well. I love the theatre though. It's so cute and the bathroom is huge!
David Josefsberg will probably be on, sicne he's back in the show.
