Ok, mom, boyfriend and I saw today's matinee. THRILLED I was able to take them before it closes, and that they got to see most of the originals. (My second time there, their first). They adored it. I wanted to bitchslap this irritating woman in our row who kept getting up and down during the CASUALTY #. She didn't seem to know if she wanted to go to the restroom or not. She blocked a few folks behind her and we all had to get up and down. Argh!! And during Act 2, some awful woman extreme house right began HOWLING ENDLESSLY. She almost ruined Julia's bedroom scene with her ceaseless hyena-like behavior. Sheesh!
It was great to see how fresh and alive they have kept the show. Lynch, Benanti, Spanger, Cahoon, Gardner, Finley...God bless 'em. Constantine...wellllll, he wasn't atrocious, like I imagined, but he was not REMOTELY at the level of Saldivar. No offense to any Constantine fans, just a personal choice.
Quick question, since the show opened, did "Glenn" always, on the airplane crossover, collapse his seat back onto Julia whose sitting behind him, as she sings her spiel? Or was this just an ad-lib?
"I am not 'a' Eunice Burns. I am THE Eunice Burns!!!"
virgil, I was at the show today as well. That woman in the orchestra was RIDICULOUS - I felt terrible for Laura during the scene in Julia's bedroom! It was completely inappropriate to be CACKLING with laughter as Laura is crying and saying "I'm Mrs. Robbie Hart!"
There was a very memorable blooper during the show today - Amy Spanger said her line about needing to see the kiss in order to make an educated decision, except instead she said "an educated deschischion." She started laughing, and Stephen and Laura started dying. Laura proceeded to go "Yes...yes that is a difficult word to say. *laughs* Especially when its an EDUCATED!!! deschishion!!!" and they all just burst out laughing. It was absolutely FABULOUS.
Can I just say, today was my first time since mid-August seeing David Josefsberg in the show again...and I.LOVE.DAVID.JOSEFSBERG. I almost forgot how entertaining it is to sit in the front row and watch him - he's ridiculously fun to watch!
Also, Michael McGurk is the cutest thing to have ever been born.
Oh yes, i loved the 'decision' bit. Hee hee. That was funny.
Yes, the woman house right was such a yutz. When various people around her tried to politely shush her after her many LOOOOONG cacklings, she snapped back : "YOU ALL CAN'T TELL ME TO BE QUIET ANY MORE!!" Some people. Jesus!
Josefsberg was out? Oh. Why and for how long? I had seen him a little while back in "SLUT, the musical" He's fun. Lynch and Benanti were still so engagingly fresh and lovely together...such a delightfully fun rapport.
"I am not 'a' Eunice Burns. I am THE Eunice Burns!!!"
During the opening scene at the matinee, when the Best Man grabs the mic and almost falls, David Josefsberg actually fell (I've never seen him fall before). It was hilarious, he looked at his glass and deadpanned, "Aaaah! I didn't spill a drop!" It was great. I love this cast.

I'm thinking about legally changing my name to Lizzie Curry...
There is nothing wrong with being obsessed with Amy-- or any of the cast of the Wedding Singer . Speaking of Amy.. go join the facebook group for her (I'm an officer of it and feel very special even though I don't do anything hehehe)
^Oh I had no idea he was out on medical leave. He's so great in the show.

They already have "Hey, big spender," "Church tongue," "My body's an amusement park," "Something real nice...with kiwis" and "dot dot dot, smiley face."

I agree with fisher. DAVID JOSEFSBERG IS AMAZING. He is hilariously funny. The best time to watch him is when you shouldn't be.
Laura was on fire today. Hysterical. I adore her. My favorite thing today was after the "formaldehyde" line in "Awesome" she said "Bold choice. Formaldehyde DOES rhyme." It was soo funny.
