Anyone planning to go to the matinee on Saturday, August 19th? It looks like my whole family might be going...me, my parents, my older brother and his fiancee, possibly his fiancee's mom!
But yeah, I'll (hopefully) be there and really want to stage door it.

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

Most of the shows were down last week, though. I blame the heatwave. *is optimistic-ish*

I saw the matinee today. It has allot of appeal. Tina is perfect in this role. I love every minute of what she does. Incredible performance indeed! Stephen was out and his understudy was also superb. The show will probably last untill December in my opinion. However, maybe Tina could be the replacement. She really could get people to see the show with the tittle TINA MADDIGAN FROM MAMMA MIA JOINS THE CAST or something like that. In other words, she also has allot of appeal. Its a show with high energy that works as a night out for friends and couples. To me, its good as what it is. The next night I have a night out with friends, this is where we will go.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Is Stephen on vacation or sick? Sorry if this was already mentioned, I'm away and it's hard for me to go online.

Stephen needed to take a couple of personal days for whatever reason, so this was pre-planned.
And also, JS, Lynch's understudy's name is Kevin Kern! I'm really glad you enjoyed him so much! Any details about just how "superb" he is?

Kevin gave a real performance that was not to overdone but not underdone. It was just right. Although he is not a big name, he will get the respect he deserves over the next couple of days playing thins role. His take on the role was just right. His connection with Tina was priceless. They really worked well together. She gave the best performance I have seen in a while. She is allot of charm and innocence, which is what the role requires much of. Her voice was really in perfect shape. I hope she can stay with the show and eventually replace Laura (only if she leaves). Kevin, in other words, was great from start to finish like Tina. However, Tina and Kevin were more appealing than the actual production, sorry to say.

Good to hear such a good review! :) I dont know.. I am totally and completely biased toward the Lynch/Benanti love, but I bet tina and kevin would be adorable together too! I mean, they're both SUPER cute, so how could they NOT be adorable together? lol. But yeah... I actually kinda want to see like a full day of understudies- kevin, tina, cara, nicolette, and the understudies for matt and kevin too (I forget who they are). That would be cool to see, not that it would ever happen or anything haha but it'd be cool if it did. But I obviously NEED to see the full actual cast at least one time before seeing all the understudies. Sigh.. I want Laura to come backkkk
cause next week when I go it'll prob be tina again, and although tina was adorable, I really REEALLY need to see laura

Eee! That review of Kevin made me real happy. LOL I'm such a loser for that guy, seriously.
and the understudies for matt and kevin too (I forget who they are).
Matt's understudy is David Josefsberg and Kevin's understudy is Eric LaJuan Summers. :) And you're right, a full day of understudies will never happen because they don't have enough swings to fill in! LOL I mean, Kevin (Kern) is the main male swing - he's not even normally in the ensemble!
So have him on as Robbie and you're a swing short as it is.
