Was at the show with SNL89 today. All the leads were in but there were understudies for Peter Kapetan & Adinah Alexandar. Cast was great today and so was the audience. LOTS of cheering from the apparently sold-out show. Did student rush & got there at 8:15. They only do 24 seats now. I felt bad for all the people inline because only like 1/2 got tickets.
I'm not gonna go around and review every person but it was my 1st time seeing Constantine and hopefully last. He was bad. Sorry, but he was. Singing- he's amazing. Acting- he's horrible. I mean he's a good actor, but he's not meant to be Sammy. I couldn't stand him in the role and was excited when he wasn't on stage.
Stage door: Felicia had a giant Playbill (edit: not sure exactly how big but it was rather large) & it was signed by the entire cast & she said "It's going to the flea market NEXT SUNDAY IN SHUBERT ALLEY!".
Today was Constantines bday so when he came out, everybody sang!
That was really it. It was my 7th time seeing the show and deffinitly last (for awhile). Updated On: 9/17/06 at 08:06 PM
I'm assuming she went to drop it off at the "headquarters" or where ever they're holding all the items. I'm pretty sure she put it into a large envelope (who knew they made envelopes that size) so yeah.
Friday night was nearly sold out, but probably because it was the night of the free American Express tickets. It was my first time seeing the show and I loved it. Constantine really wasn't that bad (I'm not a fan of his in the least, but to be objective, he did pretty well).
O.k, I have good news (for me) I can see TWS again, possibly in the next two weekends. I keep having to post-pone all of the times I wanted to see the show because I am really busy. But finally with my bat-mitzvah being done and my friends giving me overly generous girfs ... I can get to see it. For the third time . I really want to see Constantine as Sammy.
Ive not posted on this thread yet but felt i had to.
I came to New York a few months ago with my partner(he took more for a suprise trip because it was my first break for almost a year from the show im in in London, bless him)and we ended up at the Wedding Singer.
I had no idea what to expect but WOW
It got me right from the start, the cast were electric i was almost jumping out of my seat. It's so good to see such a young fun show on Broadway what has been done so well.We quite like our fun shows in london(im in footloose ,hello how camp)but Broadway always seems to have a problem with them.
I so hope this show enjoys a good run because it was outstanding i LOVED every second(Saturday night in the City WOW).This is one show they should really bring to London because it would do sooooooo well here.
What did you think of Tina Maddigan AKA the girl with golden hair?

If they saw the show "a few months ago", it's possible they did see Laura, phantom.
West end, I'm really glad you enjoyed the show so much! It'd be nice for it to do well enough to end up in London some day. It's getting a US National Tour kicking off next fall, so maybe it's in your future over there, too!

1) The show was flipping AMAZING today. Seriously, like, TONS better that it was last time I saw it. Tina's gotten SO GREAT, like seriously, and um- the CHEMISTRY between her and stephen has gotten BEYOND amazing!! Really, they have become like so. insanely. adorable togerther. Oh, and Amy was top notch today- which... was very, very, VERY amazing to see. I practically did not take my eyes off of her when she was on that stage. And obviously everyone else was just SO amazing too. 2)Seeing the show from first row is INCREDIBLE. and I just have to say that Stephen Lynch is quite possibly THE most adorable person in the world. I know I've said that again, but seriously, watching him from the front row is most def a treat for the eyes hehe. 3)Tina. Friggin. Remembered me at the stagedoor. I've been there all of ONCE before, and that was way back in July! and it wasn't just like a "have I met you before?" She came by and she was like "hey sweetie! how are you?" I was like... seriously? how good a memory does that woman HAVE that she would remember someone she met vaguely one day 3 months ago!? lol. But anyway, yeah, it was amazing and I lurve her 4)stagedooring. SUCKS. when constantine is there. BIG TIME. Like not because of anything constantine did, its just he has stupid crazy fans who go insane and crowd around the stagedoor and make it mahem JUST to see him! I mean the good thing about that is, clearly he IS gonna help the show at least a little money wise, but still. And I felt SO terrible. STEPHEN barely got any applause when he came out door. Like, for a split second he got some applause, and then it was back to "where's constantine???" A lot of people barely even seemed to NOTICE when amy and felicia came out. I was like what the heck!? and it was so crazy that obviously they had no pics and it was basically just shoving your playbills over peoples heads to get signed. (you could kinda say hi and thank you to them as they signed, but that was about it) I was like "I want my old calm stagedoor backkk!!". So yeah, just plain sucky. But, you know, at least I got to tell amy spanger that she is amazing, and tina remembered me, so its all good
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
seem thats why im not a big fan of bringing non-broadway stars to broadway. but he is doing a good job, its just sad that no one can appreciate the TRUE broadway stars.
but im glad you had SUCH a good time!!!! what a frickin AMAZING bday present!! and im glad to hear about tina and stephens chemistry (although i still dont think it could beat laura and his chemistry, but i could be wrong. what do u think?)
i just hope the stagedoor calms down by the time i go *crosses fingers*
I know a lot of Constantine's fans come on the weekend shows because they are coming from other cities. Saturday nights at the stage door are probably going to be crowded. Yesterday, was his birthday, so I think a lot of people were there to see him because of that.
During the week, I would think the stage door area would be more "normal".
I know when I got to go, I was able to speak to all the cast members, except I didn't realize who Felicia was and am sorry I missed her. That was a Saturday night.
Sounds like the crowds are getting bigger. The show is selling more seats. Not a bad thing.
The grosses for the week should be out soon. Let's hope for the best.
Jekyll & Hyde back on Broadway! / Rock of Ages - 5 Tony nominations! Awesome!
saturday night, saturday night, saturday night in the cit-ay
sorry, when you said Saturday night, BlueforBroadway, i couldnt resist :P
and i just looked at telecharge, and for around this new years, you really cant get that great of seats for WEDDING SINGER- must be selling pretty well
but i still might be able to get some tickets for Christmas... *hopes and prays*
hehe nahhh, the chemistry doesn't BEAT the lynch/benanti chemistry by any means, but it darn near matches up to it which it def didn't last time I saw it! haha
and yeah, hopefully the sd will calm down with time! I mean, it WAS also his birthday so that could def have been part of it.
(oh and for the record, I actually really liked him as sammy! he did a really good job)

Had to post: Saw the wedding singer for the third time on Saturday and it gets better every time I see it. Tina Maddigan is Julia!! She plays the part with such conviction, and you guys were right her vocals have gotten that much better since the last time I saw her perform. Every part of the show was such high energy and the best part was I didn't see many empty seats!!! I think Kevin Kern was on for Glen, he was okay but didn't nail all about the green the way Blake does...
Alright have to wait another two weeks until I see it again!! AHHH I love this show!!
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**
