It's just so, so ugly to see what is actually racialised language in this thread ("Why should she apologise to a WHITE woman") - especially whenPatti has NEVER once used racialised language in her life despite the claim by these 500 nobodies. I can really hear the hatred and prejudice in the posts trying to inflame this race war. Audra is better than this. Patti is better than this. I don't know if Kecia is better than this given she did essentially start this race war unfairly. This is chaos.

Chaos is your ability to blame a “race war” on a Black woman who merely spoke up for herself and her company. The Roommateis not the only play that’s shared a wall with HK. But it seems the only show to have a noise complaint - to our knowledge.
Patti gets to complain to the Shuberts, call Kecia a bitch and tell Audra “she should know better.” But Kecia speaking on social media is the beginning of the race war? This is theinstitutionalized white privilege people are complaining about, the mere idea that Patti isn’t at fault. Only if Kecia had stayed in her place as a woman of lower status and been quiet, but Patti doesn’t have to. That system of thought is unspoken, but always expected and people are calling the BS out - rightfully so.

Gaslighting. The go to white behavior on this thread."
How is it gaslighting when you literally won’t stop posting the same word salad over and over? It’s literally documented here. It’s a fact. Stop throwing around words like gaslighting when you clearly don’t even understand what it means.

How do you even know what anyone’s race is on here?
Multiple people have said they’re Black and don’t agree with you and you insinuate they are brainwashed.
So the only people who matter are the ones who agree with you?

Just pointing out that The Roommate was the first play to share a wall with HK!
Kimberly Akimbo was on booth less than a month during HK’s preview and that was a musical, not a two person play.
And since the Sound cues were changed that helped John Proctor not to have the same problems
I cannot believe that this is the thread the mods are hands off on.

There is no racism against white people. Because the term racism denotes a power differential. White people ALWAYS have the power. Maybe that will change one day. But right now, prejudice is the correct term.
I am assuming by everything you have ever written you are a white person. How f'ing dare you to make any declaration on what is or isn't racism. That is not up to a white person to define. If Ms. Lewis says Patti was being racially microaggressive, then Patti was being racially microaggressive. Black people know things YOU DO NOT KNOW!!!!! Your history is not theirs. Your perspective is not theirs. So just shut up and listen!!!!

Did you not read the very post you're quoting? lol. No, Patti asking Hell's Kitchen to turn down the sound was not racist this is a common scenario on broadway. If Kecia thinks it's racist she is wrong. You are also wrong. I won't shut up. Just because you think it's racist, does not make it racist. We need to live in the real world not a hysterical delusional world where just because it FEELS racist to you we automatically have to pretend that this is reality. It's not racist. It's an emotional reaction that is not grounded in reality. As Patti said, Kecia didn't know what she was talking about.

Well, I guess that useful discussion around a genuine microagression went down the memory hole.

I am as black as can be. And I am telling you that you are completely full of it. You do not know any of these people. Ms Lewis could be the devil personified for all you know. And stop telling people to shut up and listen. That will never do anyone any good. Conversation and back and forth in a inteligent manner are key. Coming here and acting like Monique yelling at Oprah is ugly and will not do anyone any good. Take your hands off your hips and drop the attitude.

It’s probably because the mods are in on the chaos of this thread.
Maybe BWW traffic and ad revenue is up to an all time high.
How in the name of Donal Duck is this **** still going on for 30 pages. Some people need to touch some grass ( like outside ) see a therapist and just try to be less consumed.
Words can't describe what this entire situation has become. Outside of the woke theater crowd on Twitter, I am seeing elsewhere that a lot of the sentiment is going back towards Patti's side.
I do wish Patti would make a statement, and we can all move on.

It does feel like we are approaching a point where Tony Kushner could write a play with epic monologues based on this discussion.
If I was Patti LuPone and saw how ridiculous everyone was being, I wouldn't say anything either. What is there to say? It is embarrassing how people have carried on acting like she has done anything to warrant this kind of reaction. I never thought I'd see the day Dems would actually mobilize - I just didn't think it would be to abolish free speech.

I think The Letter was a major turn-off!
The letter signed by those world-renowned artists has become a punchline outside of this tiny, incestuous industry. And LuPone was not wrong about the sound levels at HK.
